This hotel is closed. I booked on Expedia. Went to the hotel on 14 July to check-in. The gates were locked. The rooms were padlocked & a woman yelled at me from a window "closed" I then had to find other accommodation carrying a backpack in terrible heat. After being turned away from 3 other hotels I finally found other accommodation. The owner told me that Lakhanthong Hotel has been closed for nearly 3 years & yet it is still advertising on Agoda & Expedia. Expedia has been advised of this as I spent an hour on chat trying to get a refund as I had paid Expedia for the night at Lakhanthong Hotel & to have the property removed from the site. It still appears on other booking sites as do many other hotels in Luang Prabang that are closed. In the last 5 days I have had to move hotels 3 times because hotels in Luang Prabang are either not booking the correct rooms or overbooking & trying to send guests to other hotels run by family members. They then claim that the guest was a no-show & collect the cancellation fee. Expedia needs to do an audit of all the hotels they have listed in Luang Prabang. I have spent my entire holiday packing & unpacking my bag and running between hotels. I have spoken to other foreigners that are experiencing the same.

Charming peaceful place to stsy

Great place to unwind from the hustle and bustle. Breakfast is freshly made to order and is lovely. No kettle in the room but they will give you tea and coffee whenever you want it. Very helpful reception staff. Only issue was that the drainage channel outside the property which was a bit messy but that will soon be sorted

Good People Good hotel and Good Service

The boutique are nice and solid wood design inside out. Location not far from old city and 10-15 walking to the night market. Mr. Minh is really helpful and he is so nice to us during our stay. Breakfast serve to your door and you can enjoyed it at your veranda. Order are not limited. They do provide bicycle and you can take it to go round the city

We had a great time at this hotel. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly, and the hotel itself was beautiful. Get the banana pancake at breakfast - it’ll change your life.

A little gem.

Would definitely stay here again. From the free shuttle service from and to the airport to the worlds largest omelette for breakfast and friendly staff this place will take some beating. A 15 minute walk to the night market and set in a quiet location it was ideal for us. Thanks to all of you for making this a memorable part of our holiday.

Great staff!

Great boutique hotel and value for money

I really satisfied with this traditional wooden hotel. Paid small amount of money and enjoyed free airport pick up service, free delicious and rich breakfast, free bicycle during the stay and free flow of coffee or tea any time. Never have this experience before. If you like stylish restaurant Mandas de Laos and cool bar 525, they are just next door Thank you Minh, Micheal and all the stuffs for your great service! Fantastic work!

Nice hotel, good breakfast

The hotel is located close to the Main Street. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good. The rooms are a bit small and oddly dark but the wooden furniture is nice. The bathroom has an odd set up, there's a bathtub with a shower head but no shower curtain so the floor got very wet.

Delightful Hotel

We enjoyed our stay here and actually extended by another day. Fantastic staff even tho English a bit of a problem but then we are used to that with travelling. Would prefer a kettle in the room rather than having to ask staff everytime you want to have a cup of tea or coffee. They were always very quick to bring it to you when you asked but i just went without a lot rather than bother them. I bring my own coffee with me so just needed a cup of hot water for it and didn't like to ask too many times during the day so opted to go without apart from breakfast and maybe one at night.

Full of bed bugs!! no backup generator!

I stayed one night and was eaten alive by bed bugs in room 14--i mean hundreds of bites all over me. Michael apologised, but didn't do much else and disappeared after I told him. also, power knocked out BC of storm and no candles, torches, or back up anything. so all night with no ac, no electricity, no running water, and no internet. miserable. not worth it BC heaps of places in town for same price or less.

Small, friendly, value.

This is a good little hotel with appropriate value for money and a staff that works super hard to make everything right for you. Good breakfasts and free coffee/tea anytime. Very helpful with travel arrangements as well. Walking distance to centre of town and the excellent night market, but the free bikes (in good condition) really save the day and provide you with a way both into and out of the city.
