We had a nice stay at Secrets with our group of 6 (we booked three swim-up garden view rooms). Overall, we enjoyed the facility and our rooms. The selection of bars was good, though we would have liked to see slightly more elevated liquor offerings. Most of the restaurants were decent. The special teppanyaki dinner at Himitsu was a highlight—be sure to show up to get in line around 3:30–4pm for a reservation that night. The seafood restaurant, Oceana, was our other favorite. The Italian restaurant, Portofino, wasn't as good as we would have hoped due to the "formal" dress code and could use some improvements to the pasta dishes especially, which we found lacked flavor. A few suggestions for improvement: 1. We were disappointed that no drink service was available at our swim-up room. This was one of the highlights of our stay at another similar resort, and we felt it was a big missing piece. 2. Housekeeping in our room was lacking. We requested more towels for our swim-up pool, more Nespresso coffee pods because we were out, more water in our mini fridge, and more hangers for the closet. Housekeeping wasn't attentive to our requests, which really cheapened our experience. 3. Upon arrival, no one offered to bring our bags to our room and we had to walk back out to the parking area to retrieve our baggage ourselves. 4. The quality of the room service food could be improved. Overall, good stay! With a few service improvements, this would have been a much better experience.

What an amazing property! Immaculate resort with great service, drinks, and food. We had such a wonderful time and did not want to leave. We never had to wait for dinner. The food was better than any all inclusive resort we have ever been to. We will definitely be returning hopefully next year!

The food and drinks are terrible and that’s why I’m giving it one star. I read so many reviews of this place and after staying here I cannot imagine who these people are saying the food is great??? Where do they eat normally???? We are not picky and this is my first bad review I am leaving for a hotel because I just have to warn people about the bad food. The eggs at buffet are gross with some sort of filler. The “juice” is sugar water with a bit of juice. Everything tastes like school cafeteria food. Of course you can get fruit which actually tastes like real food and I thought bacon was fine. The room service and pool food is pretty nasty. “pizzas” are worst than anything frozen you would buy at grocery store. Any fish dish I got had a bad taste like it wasn’t fresh or freezer burned. The chicken was only option meatwise and we had some decent chicken at dinner restaurants. I was actually the most disappointed with the deserts. They were so bad. Artificial flavored pastries even a few places that had ice cream tasted so bad. The other AI we have started at had a place u could get gelato so at least u could get something good but nada here. The drinks are so water downed it’s impossible to even get a buzz but they taste horrible because it’s all cheap fake ingredients. We spent a lot to stay in a swim out room and it was clean. The grounds are pretty and service by employees was fantastic. The employees service was the best 10/10.

It was nice and had a great view on our fourth floor room. Food was good but not great. Didn’t like that the restaurants said slacks and collared shirts required but staff was told not to enforce. Felt the building was deteriorating and not maintained very well, loose toilet seats rusted railings leaking sink in preferred lounge. Etc It was nice but it should be more affordable for the food and facilities that was provided. We had visited the breathless sister hotel and felt it was closer to a four star than secrets was. Just our opinion.

If you want good food do not visit this property. Food is below average, plus they make you wait 30 minutes for a table when the reataurant is 3/4 empty. No dinner buffet, breakfast and lunch buffet were horrible. Staff moves very slow and not sense of urgency.
