I will start off by stating that there were many things about the unit that we loved but the kitchen floor was sticky upon arrival and there was exactly one kitchen towel (we purchased a second one and I hope housekeeping left it in the unit for the next guests). One bed was missing linens and no extras anywhere to be found in the house.
I understand that most of Europe does not use top sheets on their beds, but it was extremely hot, no air conditioning, only down comforters on the beds, and no fans. Goats (which were adorable) were grazing just out the back during our entire stay, so we had to choose between opening the windows with no screens and letting in lots of flies or a very hot and stuffy house with no fans or air conditioning.
There were four of us, but only one set of keys were provided which was very inconvenient.
One of the reasons we chose this particular was the promise of a washer and dryer. However, the dryer was not working and the owner made no effort to get in touch with the property manager when we were not able to. The owner was aware of the dryer situation before our arrival and did not mention it. Disclosing this information before our arrival would have been helpful. There were exactly 4 towels provided so it would have been nice if we had been able to wash and dry them during our stay.
There were many things about the chalet that we loved, plenty of space for four, extremely convenient for day hikes out the door, waking up to a spectacular view every morning. However, I hope to stay a little closer to town the next time I visit Wengen. The 35 minute roundtrip walk to pick up eggs and bread started to get old after a week, even though it was a fantastic walk. If this is not an issue for you and you don't need a dryer or fans, this is a lovely spot.
