What should I bring to a spa hotel?Given you'll probably spend quite a bit of your time in a robe and slippers, you won't need to bring a whole lot with you. Besides casual, loose-fitting clothes to put on after your massage and spa treatments, essential items such as toiletries and underwear should be right at the top of your packing list. Of course, if you intend to make use of the resort's swimming pool or get physical with an exercise class or two, throw a swimming suit and some workout clothes into your bag as well. Finally, leave the laptop and smartphone at home and bring a book instead. It is, after all, meant to be an escape from the real world.

ANA InterContinental Ishigaki Resort by IHG
"Very expensive and sadly there is a class system. Hotels.com advertised 3 pools but we could only use one which was not ideal and not enough sun beds. Paying £330 a night we wouldn’tn expect to be the ‘lower’ tier of guest. However, we loved our room even though no balcony and the food was incredible. Chinese restaurant was permanently closed though, again this was advertised as open. They could do with a lounge bar for the lower tier guests. Beach could do with a clean up, a lot of washed up rubbish and plastic plus random cargo boxes left to rot."
