My clients drove 6 hours to Houston to attend the Houston Texans and Jacksville Jaguars game. Only to arrive to a property that was meant for them to relax peacefully and enjoy their 3 night stay instead a nightmare. The property, the listing details about the property and the details leading up to and surrounding the property were completely inaccurate. The property sat in the middle of a construction disaster. There was dirt where there should have been roads on every street leading to the property. There were holes in the sidewalks, rocks and gravel, heavy machinery and workers operating the machinery and roads everywhere surrounding the property. The host was contacted about the issues and he was very unhappy. Not because of the issues but because my clients chose to not stay at that property. It was a risk to their health and their vehicles. I contacted VRBO about the issue, they reached out to the host and am agreement was made to cancel the reservation and refund clients. VRBO compensated my clients to help them find lodging for their stay and assume me and my client will receive a refund in 5 days. It's been well over 5 days. After speaking back and forth to the host and with VRBO directly, the host refused to refund my clients their money. Stating that VRBO never cancelled the reservation. Since it's been an uproar and a lot of tension between us and the host.To keep it highly professional, I will simply say that the Host experience was completely unethical.
