Arriving at the Showboat Hotel our room was not acceptably clean. The floor was sticky and covered with dirt, mini fridge had mold, and the balcony had dirt/bird droppings that was clearly not kept up with.
I called the hotel desk which is not in on the weekends, after speaking with hospitality we were sent a housekeeper. The only productive thing accomplished was that our fridge was switched out for a clean one. The employee “mopped,” resulting in the same floor dirt being pushed around. We swept off the outside balcony/bird droppings and wiped the floor again ourselves.
The balcony view was enjoyable, bedding and towels fresh, room was recently remodeled. It is obvious the staff is not thoroughly taking care of rooms between guests beyond the bare minimum.
Management was not accessible over the weekend. When checking in ourselves, we stopped at the office to inquire. An employee (same housekeeper) showed us our room code on a list with current room codes for every guest. Extremely unprofessional from a safety perspective. The staff provided on-site was not thorough or overly professional.
Overall, unimpressed with a hotel providing supposed-3 star amenities.
