Overall pleasant stay, but property is a bit dated now and in need of an overhaul. Room was comfortable, but some wear & tear in bathroom. Great staff, food was good at breakfast, OK at dinner (as a vegetarian, limited options). So, good price, good location. Would stay there again.

2 comfortable nights stay. Wait to check in on arrival as only one person on the desk who however was pleasant, helpful and informative. Room facilities good other than absence of a safe. Excellent service at dinner where menus adequate and food well presented and tasty.

Hotel bar and overall customer service were fabulous. However, their key system crashed so we spent almost an hour sitting on the floor outside our room while the manager went floor by floor letter people in at 0100. They did not provide any kind of discount for the inconvenience. In the morning, it did not feel like they were prepared for the sheer number of guests that wanted breakfast (holiday morning) and the process was a little chaotic. Food was great. Not a very relaxing stay overall.

Fantastic staff on checkin. Easy parking on location. Short waterside walking into downtown Heidelberg. If you plan shopping or castle tour then it would be more advantageous to drive instead of walking.

We won't be coming back

Booked two rooms for our family, got put on different floors at opposite side of hotel. Room was comfortable and clean, though bathroom very much in need of refurbishment. Read the fine print: what looks like complimentary water in the rooms is actually €5 each. Came down to restaurant at 9pm to have dinner on patio, was told it was no longer possible to get service on patio. Sat inside, watching those out on patio get full dinner service. Our drinks came after our food. Breakfast buffet was good. €25 for overnight parking, such a racket. Overall, a disappointing experience, not worth nearly what we paid. We'll certainly be coming back to Heidelberg, but not to the Marriott.

The room had a beautiful view of the river. The old town and Heidelberg Castle was spectacular. The hotel’s breakfast buffet was amazing- so much to choose from and delicious.
