I do not normally leave reviews, but I felt one was necessary after this stay. I rented this lake house for a friend’s birthday, and while the inside of the home was clean and nice overall, the outside of the property was very disappointing for the amount of money we paid.When we arrived, the AC was not on and the house was very hot. After turning on the wall unit near the front door, it began leaking a large amount of water onto the floor. The house eventually cooled down, but it was not a good first impression.The hot tub was also not ready. It was only 79 degrees, the controls were locked, and there were no clear instructions other than a link to an online manual. We had to figure it out ourselves, and it did not heat up until the next day.The biggest issue was the outdoor maintenance. I understand bugs are common at lake houses, but the furniture was covered in spider webs, and there were wasp nests around the furniture, handrails, entryways, and deck. I spent about an hour knocking down webs and spraying nests just to make the area usable.The lake area was also a safety concern. There were large limbs and logs near the dock, the wooden steps out of the water were broken, and there was no ladder. We had to physically lift our kids out of the water, sometimes laying on the dock to pull them up.Overall, the listing photos did not reflect the outdoor condition. The property needs serious cleaning, insect treatment, and safer lake access. I would not recommend this stay.
