A very enjoyable and comfortable place; spotlessly clean inside, upon arrival. We stayed six nights in June and would have done another week if we could have. The main space—like a big studio apartment with kitchen, dining area, and living room—would work perfectly for big meals and evening entertainment. The long kitchen counter doubles as a bar. The master bedroom is good sized and the big bed is super comfortable. The other two bedrooms on the lower floor are nicely sized, and the loft over the kitchen looks like a fun space but we didn’t have much reason to go up there. A group of four to six people would have plenty of space in this house.
Big plusses: 1. Location: The property is roughly equal driving distance between Crawford Notch and Mount Washington. Fifteen- to 20-minute drives up Routes 16, 16A, and 16B, and up or down Route 302 take you to a variety of trails on state and federal land. Good and great hikes are everywhere. 2. Owner responsiveness: The owner was very quick to respond by text or call to any questions we had during our stay, and offered good suggestions for local resources.
This is a split-level house; you enter on a landing, and to the right are stairs up to the main space and stairs down to the bedrooms. The driveway has space for several vehicles, but with more than one car turn-around space would be tight.
Nice, walkable neighborhood.
