Fabulous Place!

We stayed here for three days, as it was about 30 minutes from our sons wedding venue. The place was absolutely fabulous! The property was beautifully landscaped and had plenty parking available.The home was very spacious, clean, comfortable and charming. Our friends have never rented a place before as they were afraid of being disappointed. Let me just say that they were so impressed that they plan on renting instead of staying at hotels again.We left there wanting to stay longer and enjoy all the extras that were provided. This would be a great property for a family or friend reunion or a weeks vacation. You wouldn't get bored just hanging out there, however you could easily do a day trip and come back and relax. The owners are very friendly and thoughtful!

Great family vacation spot.

We had more than enough of everything. The owners helped us out alot, told us where to go, what’s to do, where the church was. Had the bon fires ready for us. What ever we needed he had it there for us. Very clean. Hot tub, water, sand , woods with all the stuff to do out there was great, the game room for all ages, and toys and board games for all ages, something for everyone for a big family..would go back again .

What we were seeking

Our party of 13 family members enjoyed a terrific stay in July on Secord Lake near Gladwin. The accommodations were top notch and accurately described. They seemed to have anticipated everything. The owners were accessible and responded quickly to requests or questions. Whether in the hot tub, a kayak, fishing, or playing on the “lily pad”, the water provided great fun and/or relaxation. There were enough activities available to interest all of us, ages 8 to 74. All in all, a very successful vacation. Thank you Kendall and Jo.

Awesome place for family vacation!

Kendall has an amazing place right on the lake. The neighborhood is quite and peaceful. It was perfect for our family vacation. We enjoyed hanging out on the dock as well as his acreage across the street equipped with a fire pit and cornhole. Definitely an ideal place for a family get away with very pleasant and helpful hosts. Would love to visit again!

Wonderful lake house!

My family and I had such an amazing time. Our hosts Kendall and Jo went over and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! This place is gorgeous, right on the lake and also very spacious! There is a wonderful game room with lots of things to entertain children of all ages. It was immaculate when we checked in and they provided everything we needed for the week. The kitchen had every utensil, dish and pots to cook with! Kendall had a fire ready for us in the evening and made sure hot tub was clean every morning. I can’t recommend this place enough. Was such a wonderful time for us all! Kendall and Jo are absolutely amazing and I would definitely stay there again!! Dawn Fedele

BEWARE - listing and pictures are not accurate!!!

Lake - According to the listing we believed we were getting a nice lake front vacation but it was anything but that. The owners messaged us 2 DAYS before arrival saying the lake was on a 10' drawdown due to a damn issue that happened 2 years ago!!! Of course this was not in the listing and it was too late to cancel because they wanted too long to tell us (which I believe was intentional). Swimming - They say there is swimming, well there's about 2 feet of space between the shore and a 10' drop off, which makes any safe swimming for kids impossible. Also there's about a 45 degree slope to get down to the water which was almost impossible for my parents. House - The pictures show balconies and seating areas but in reality there is a single seating area which is directly in the sun. The other areas are in the owners space which is the top-half of the house, not in "completely separate unit" as described. Yard - The back yard is all rocks and dirt, nothing that can be used for games or relax in. Fire pit - the firepit in the picture is located across the street, behind a large shed into the woods. The owner mentioned there is a bear that lives in the woods as well, again not a place to hang out at night! Owners - the owners are VERY INTRUSIVE!! We were woken up multiple times by texts at 8:30am with daily information. The owner was constantly around, walking by windows, and one day using heavy machinery in the backyard. If our stay wasn't bad enough this made it worse. If you are looking for a property to sit inside all day this might work, but beware of the TRUE condition of the listing!!!

Excellent Stay! 5+ Star

We visited with 7 adults and 4 kids (7 - 13) and everyone had an excellent time! The host was more than accommodating and helpful to make our stay memorable and enjoyable. As for cleanliness, I can honestly say I have never stayed at a rental where I felt more at ease due to the cleanliness of the whole facility. 10/10 would recommend for your next stay on Secord Lake.

Perfect for BIG and multiple families

We were greeted and given a tour by the owner, who was very nice, and super helpful throughout the stay. There was something for everyone to do, no matter what age. The hot tub was nice with a beautiful view. Very clean. Plenty of space for everyone to have individual space if needed. House had everything you needed to cook and entertain. Would definitely love to visit again ❤️
