Beach close by

There was easy non contact check in. The house was very cute with a cheerful color scheme. All of the bedrooms were set up nicely. The house is located a small jaunt away from the beach. There is a very active security system with strobe lights and sounds from pictures being taken. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great location but dirty and unsafe also a mouse

Let’s start with the pros, this location is minutes away from a great beach. Now for the cons. The house is quite dirty. When we first arrived the table was fully set with plates and bowls. Unfortunately these dishes were dirty and had to be washed immediately. Like each bowl was full of someone’s snack crumbs. The floor was dirty and there were spiderwebs everywhere. The final morning of our stay as we were finishing breakfast we saw a mouse run across the kitchen floor and under the dishwasher. Yuck. The smoke detectors upstairs were all missing. This has to be some sort of code violation. There is an electrical plate upstairs that has a huge hole in it which is a big hazard with young kids. This place is expensive enough that I expected better. 100% do not recommend :)

Nice Stay

Very cute little neighborhood just a short walk to the beach! Wagon, high chair, 4-5 folding beach chairs and a new umbrella were provided!! We even found the blender has been removed and our host grabbed a new one for us by the next day! Cute house, lots of room to spread out.

Perfect getaway close to beach!

The house was perfect for our group of 9, ranging in age from 5-47. The house had everything we needed and was clean and nicely decorated! It is a very short walk to the beach, which was never crowded and always clean! We had a brief malfunction with the carbon monoxide detection system and the owner was there within 5 minutes to remedy the situation. We would definitely stay again!

Good trip with some issues.

Overall, a good house. Pros: - Truly is steps from Miller Beach which has a snack shack with burgers, ice cream, etc. - House is very cute and well-stocked. Cons: - We could not open the lockbox to retrieve the key. I texted and called the number they provided several times. It took a few hours to get a call back which was stressful. Ultimately, she sent someone out to help. - The house has a critter issue. I assume they are mice, but they are in the walls and cause lots of noise starting very early in the morning (5am).

Great location!

Don’t let location keep you from renting this amazing rental, Gary Indiana has some beautiful lake front properties. This nice home is literally steps from the beach, 2 min. walk. The location is ideal for visiting the Indiana Dunes National Park. I suggest a short drive north to care stair ants and shops in New Buffalo, MI.

Good location for a relaxing weekend

Place is a 1 minute walk to Lake Michigan and the beach is great. The house has a really nice finished basement that wasn’t shown in the pictures that we really enjoyed. The only downfall was that the place was not very clean (dirty floors) and lots of bugs throughout the home (bees, spiders, ants).

Wonderful beach location!

We spent a wonderful long weekend in this charming cottage, had perfect weather for our multiple outings to the beach, which is steps away as advertised! The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed, and the neighborhood is outstanding! We will definitely be back!

Girls weekend getaway!

We enjoyed our stay at this house! There was plenty of beds and the weather was perfect for us to have a bonfire! The wood provided was a little green but burnt well after we got the coals nice and hot. The beach was a quick walk away and a great place to relax and catch some sun. There was plenty of great beach stuff at the house but the umbrella was older and looked broken so we didn't take it. I would rent this house again! If your looking for a place that has a lot of places to eat or things to do, this isn't your area. It was fantastic for laughs and relaxation for a group of friend whom go away once a year to forget the real world for a few days.

AMAZING!

We loved the location and the environment! The secluded, wooded yard out back was so inviting, quiet, and serene. We heard birds, saw wildlife, and listened to the waves. When we were ready to go to the beach, we simply walked over to the water! We loved how close we were. It made it so easy to hop back to the house for lunch and dinner, spending the rest of our time at the beach. We felt safe the entire time, there was plenty for the kids to do, and the adults got to relax.

Great Stay / No Issues / As Advertised

Great overall stay - the house was very clean - great inclusion of linens - comfortable beds - good inclusion of things in the Kitchen, etc. Though located in Gary, IN it felt to be in a safe area and the beach really is just a short distance away. Would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to the area.

Family Getaway

This was the perfect spot for a quick family getaway! The house is a minute walk from the beach and we practically had the beach to ourselves our whole trip! The house was nice, clean, and had everything you could possibly need- towels, bedding, extra pillows and blankets, beach toys, chairs, kitchen supplies, coffee, etc. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend it to others!

We took a weekend girls trip for my daughters birthdays and the kids all had a blast. The location was perfect to quickly get to the beach. You feel far away from the hustle and bustle but you are still close enough if you need to run and pick up supplies. Thank you for hosting us!

A pleasant stay

The house is clean and well-appointed, with plenty of parking and a very short walk to the beach. Arcade cabinet and ping-pong table were popular with the kids when the weather wasn't cooperating.
