We recently visited Big Bend National Park and stayed here, and honestly, the experience was incredible. From the moment we arrived, the energy of the place felt welcoming and calm—like walking into a real home. The barndominium was extremely well stocked with essentials, thoughtfully set up, and genuinely comfortable.The views were beautiful, and the amenities were amazing—hot tub, grill, and everything you could possibly need right there. It’s about an hour and a half from Big Bend National Park and roughly 45 minutes from Terlingua, which made it a perfect location.Everything was easy and self-explanatory, and it was even decorated for Christmas, which made our stay extra special since we were there with family and little kids. It added such a magical touch to the trip.Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.
The chrismas decor was there, we just brought our gifts. It felt like we never left home.

Highly communicative hosts who warmly welcomed us to the barndo. You’re not roughing it here. The sunsets were great, and the wildlife will practically touch you. We enjoyed the hot tub both nights.

Mark and Michelle were amazing hosts and very accommodating. We enjoyed our stay in their barndo with beautiful veiws in the day time as well as the stars at night. Beds and all of the furnishings were all very comfortable and cozy. Would highly recommend a stay at their property and will definitely be back to stay there again ourselves!

Cooking was enjoyable having a fully stocked kitchen. It was nice having filtered water from the tap. It wasn't very hard to observe water conservation which was obvious being in the desert. Although we didn't use the hot/cold tub ourselves it looked very inviting.

We hit a home run with this stay! Mark and Michelle were the most hospitable host and their place does not disappoint! In fact, we saw more wildlife on their property than at Big Bend. Deer, javelina, quail, fox and even some wild burros on the main road. If you want a quiet location with wildlife, book this one. I didn’t even mention the local cafe just 5 minutes away for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the star gazing was spectacular! This place really has it all!

House was very clean, hot tub water we couldn't get warm but we didn't ask for help. I really liked the house and hostess but felt it was a bit far from the national park. I didn't realize I was going have go down a dirt road to get to the house.

If you’re looking for an off the beaten path getaway, this place is for you. It’s quite remote, but well worth the drive. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly, and they’ll show you everything you need to know when you check in. The place is clean and has good WiFi. The hot tub is exactly what you need after a long day hiking at Big Bend and the stars at night are beautiful. If you’re looking for a place to stay whilst going to Big Bend, this is the place for you.

The Chiles' barndominium made for the perfect basecamp for my family as we explored all of the must do's in the area. The host were friendly, welcoming. We saw mule deer from the privacy and javelina while soaking in the hot tub. Our stay at the Chiles' barndominium was nothing short of incredible. It served as the perfect basecamp for exploring everything the Big Bend area has to offer. The location gave us a true taste of the Texas Big – wide-open skies, rugged beauty, and a peaceful atmosphere that made it hard to leave.The hosts were warm, welcoming, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. What a great place to kick back, watch the amazing stars, watch an abundance of wildlife, and an occasional black bear. The owners of this property were absolutely top notch with such hospitality. Mark and Michelle were very helpful and knowledgeable about the Big Bend area. It is a little bit of a drive, but trust me, it is well worth it! If you are wanting to experience a true night sky with zero light pollution, this truly is the spot to visit! You wont be disappointed! Thank you Mark & Michelle!
