Was surprised at the historic nature of the hotel and enjoyed about an hour walking around the hotel lobby reading about all the historic visitors like Churchill, Robert Kennedy, Ladybird Johnson, etc who I understand from the staff were all in the area for business. Outside of the covid area plastic shield at the front desk, the hotel was as you would have imagined it in the golden age. I wish more of the restaurants inside were open as I would have liked to see what they looked like. Parking was good and safe in a locked lot. Overall, was an interesting place to stay.

Beautiful lobby. Older elegance. Thin walls, easy to hear neighbors and a rain squall onto the roof awakened me. Bathroom has toilet and single sink in same small room with quite limited counter space, not a problem for one person but inconvenient for two. Breakfast ok.

Excellent stay. Great location. Very original and clean hotel. Be prepared to bring munchies or cash. We were not able to get snacks charged to our rooms. Also, you can hear your neighbors talking through and TVs through the walls.

We were on a spring break trip for my son and stayed here. It was great to see how life may have been for guests during that time. It was a nice step back into history. We wish the bistro was open. Thank you for the stay and check-in was great.

Beautiful place! Lots of history. Lounge open Thursday-Sunday, but staff allowed us to enjoy a bottle of wine by the great fireplace. Lots of wood and leather. Close to several restaurants if you arrive during the week. Hours change seasonally. Loved our stay.

Faded but comfortable

The place is a bit worn but it's got a classic atmosphere of old wood, murals, photos, and ghostly memories and faded elegance. I loved sitting in the lobby and watching the fire. Bathroom very small (no lace to put your stuff) but everything works. Room a bit chilly. TV station selection is abysmal. Wifi guaranteed to work only in public spaces (luckly my room was ok). Front lobby desk often left unattended for long stretches of time. Everyone was friendly. Close to downtown. Excellent parking. No room cleaning unless you ask for it, but that wasn't a problem. I'd stay here again.
