The building itself is beautiful. Comfortable and clean bedroom and bathroom. Lovely relaxing bar and dining areas. Very pleasant staff throughout our stay with good customer service. We would have rated excellent until I observed cobwebs on the light shade/wire just above a dining table. This was in easy reach and should have been dusted.

Hotel is very nice and in a very convenient location for Durham town centre. Room was adequate although we found a few problems with it. Bed was very high and hard, there a few lamps that did not work, one being the desk lamp and the another in the bathroom.

Beautiful room, very considerately located when I said I had poor mobility. One small problem - there were no bright lights in the room at all - I understand that it creates a relaxing low light effect but actually it was pretty dark even in the middle of the day with curtains open and it makes it very difficult to actually see anything or read in ambient lighting. Need a bright side light for choice. Otherwise room was gorgeous and comfortable and stylish. Indigo is always our favourite choice in Durham. Very classy bar area and breakfast to die for :)
