Should have known by the price what it would be. The room had trash under the bed. How do I know is because my cologne top rolled under the bed the bathroom had hair throughout. Once you step outside your room it was like a sauna. Extremely hot. They claim to have blackout curtains as our room faced the east and the sun came right through. The overall grounds were dirty and littered with cigarette butts and trash here and there.. and let's not forget the trailers that are on the property. Next there was the bar for food. The bartender seemed bothered when we asked for food and said that there is no full menu after 8.. well geez it was only 7:15. She was super rude. Breakfast was not even worth getting out of bed for. Please do walk around the property to get any air or just to look around because the mosquitoes will eat you alive and follow you. They are outside,in the lobby and in your room. It's called the Wyndham Gardens.. it should be called mosquito gardens. We probably won't be back,but if we do it'll be more than 6 years from for sure.. grab this hotel as a last ditch effort and bring some off for the bugs.

When we first arrived and looked at the main lobby we thought we hit the jackpot, beautiful, well maintained, stunning with all the plants. Then they gave us our room..nightmare!!! The door to our room was wide open, the lock to the room (the one you scan your key card on) was broke in half, the door itself was quite obvious had been kicked in...the door to the adjacent room connecting was jammed in place and that lock wouldn't lock. The room itself was partially cleaned with no supplies. The hall had papers scattered the whole way down it, with some sort of metal frame looked like a bed frame leaning against another room door. We had to get back into our car to drive around this dark secluded area to even get there..now we had to go back to ask for a different room! When we ask them for different room was told sorry couldn't do that totally booked, they was sending the maintenance man to take a look, he scan our card several times on the lock said it works, came in room and pushed the adjacent tighter and said it is safe and secure. When asked to cancel our room was told would take days for the refund (if any). So we literally pushed the nightstand in front of that door for the night and bought a door jam rod thing to use inside. Yeah this place sucked and me personally think it totally unsafe. I was a mother with my daughter traveling alone, not appropriate at all. Positive thing.. the main lobby was stunning very deceitful for what we got...breakfast was good

The garden area and pool WOULD have been great, but there was no AC in the lobby/garden area, exterior hallways, or stairways. Just sitting in the breakfast buffet area on hot mornings, or in the garden/pool area during late afternoons was uncomfortable at best. It was at least 80+ degrees in there, which meant we'd rather stay in the air conditioned room instead of using the amenities that actually brought us to the property. Our room door stuck so bad that we had to put a shoulder into it every time to get it open. The pictures online are definitely misleading as well. The rooms have been "renovated" with newer furniture, but the walls, shower, floors, etc weren't clean. The staff was nice and accommodating. The hot breakfast was mediocre, but the food in the restaurant was good. Overall, the disrepair and dated, "painted over" feel made me regret not spending a couple dollars more per night for a nicer overall hotel.

The breakfast was good, and the bed slept good. My only complaint is that the two rooms that was offered to me both had mold on walls of the bathtubs. They need to focus more on cleaning these areas and my review would be different.

I was stranded by a thunderstorm that shut down the airport I was attempting to fly to for vacation. That being said, I was forced to stay overnight in Detroit. While the staff at the front desk was excellent, they had a hard hotel to represent. There were so many issues with my room, that I don't understand how this sister hotel of Wyndham got 5 stars on this site. Having been a property manager for over 20 years, I was horrified by the condition of my room. After my stay, I attempted to contact the hotel manager by name through Expedia to try to get some kind of partial refund because the room was in such disrepair. First, Expedia "bait and switched" the price as $67/night. When I clicked on it and tried to book a room, it said they were all sold out and forced a higher price. The total ended up being $105! Here are the issues with my room as there were so many! The king bed was sunken in the middle of the mattress. The tile floor was not even swept--to where someone else's blonde hair was stuck all over my socks. There was hard body wax stuck to the floor of the bathroom. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink to wash my face. Instead of fixing it, they tore off the hot/cold symbol from the faucet. The toilet paper holder was beyond rusted and popped out of the wall. Direct view of dumpster of trash in front of window. Extra toilet paper roll had blood on it.

Sent following message to manager of hotel. Good Evening Leila, Please find attached receipt of my stay at your hotel. It was very disappointing experience everyday of my stay. I had called on day before my arrival that my flight is coming early at 10am , can I do early check in. Front desk told me that call us when you at Airport. If we have room available, we will let you check in. I called when I landed for pick up , I asked can I check in early? She told me they don’t have room ready. While I was waiting I went on my booking and found out early check in is available for $50 if room is available. So I booked it and paid $50. When I reached at Hotel, Room was available and i was able to check in. So my problem is room was available from beginning and was ready. They didn’t give me room but when paid $50 it was okay. Is this a customer service! When I checked in I got a room where next door was a family with small kids. So I called and they changed my room. So there was another room was available but I had to pay $50 for early check in !!! Ridicules. That room toilet got flooded next day morning. We had to used dirty and new all towels/ napkins to stop water coming in the room. Maintenance man came and fixed toilet. He took all dirty towels and napkins. Housekeeping came to clean as per maintenance man instructions. We requested towels and napkins, they asked us we can only give what we collect. I told them that maintenance man picked up everything. The hotel has a really creepy setup the outer wall of each room is a huge window with curtains for privacy. One elevator making it difficult for the accessing rooms to the second floor. Smelled of chlorine bc of the pool in the center of the hotel. Beds are old with coils and mattress sink in. The water fixtures were hanging off the shower wall.

This is seriously outdated. We were on the side near the washing machines, so our room was humid and hot. The floors were very sticky and gross. The beds were concrete. And the shower had rust and dirt all over it. We would never stay here ever again.
