The space
This is a new property that has been gut-renovated in 2025. In a safe and happy rural area, you will find comfort and coziness during your visit where you can unplug from the real world. Only about 1.5 hours away from Boston it makes for a convenient weekend getaway.
The property has a cozy feeling throughout the house. The lake views are breathtaking and peaceful at all times of the day and all seasons of the year, starting with the morning fog to the sunset. All seasons present their best at the lake, my favorite is foliage in the fall and when the lake freezes in the winter!
The wood stove adds a cozy ambiance to the house, while providing a lot of heat if you use it for that purpose. Throw a couple of firewood to the stove to add heat and ambiance, while you play your music on the bluetooth Bose soundbar or play board games. There is also heat in the house so you don't need to depend on the stove for heat.
The backyard is where you will enjoy a camp fire, grill, comfortable Adirondack chairs, a kayak, and obviously enjoy the lake views, fishing, or swimming.
Kitchen is fully equipped and is large enough for cooking comfortably. Note that there is no dishwasher.
The 1st floor has living room, kitchen, and half bathroom.
The 2nd floor has 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom.
Bedroom 1 has lake views, a king mattress and a twinXL mattress, dedicated thermostat/heater for the room, and a dressing room.
Bedroom 2 has land views, a queen size mattress and a twinXL mattress, dedicated thermostat/heater for the room, and closet space.
Guest access
Guests have access to all parts of the house, including the wood stove, the canoe, weber gas grill, and the lake!
Other things to note
Notes:
There is no dishwasher in the house. Please do not leave dirty dishes after checking out.
The house has a small 20-gallon water heater, so after one shower, please wait about 30 minutes for the water to heat up again.
Keep the wood stove door closed at all times to prevent smoke and sparks from escaping. Only open it briefly to add more wood, then close it immediately. If you require assistance with setting up the fire, you can call me directly.
The vacation home is heated and features 1.5 bathrooms and space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. The bathroom offers hair dryers and bidets. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a microwave.

This was a great stay. The door unlocks with a code so no extra keys to keep track of. Host stocked the house with plenty of wood for the wood stove, so we were able to keep a romantic fire going for our stay. Kitchen is very well appointed with utensils and in logical places. Host was prompt in answering questions. View of the lake is genuinely wonderful. Living room is stocked with board games for when its raining. And, even though its lake side, it's close to town. This is a real treat of a little home. Definitely staying here again when I'm back in town.

We are only just over an hour away from Henniker, but we wanted a nice family weekend away while we supported one of our kids at a State Champs ski racing weekend at Pats Peak and the other at a gymnastics meet in Hooksett. This house was perfect for us. The primary bedroom was large, and overlooked the frozen lake. We made fires in the cozy living room and loved that the owner had stocked wood for purchase at a reasonable price--one less thing to bring or worry about. We saw 3 deer cross the lake at dusk, and we had good family time playing games (that were well stocked) in the house. We cooked meals and sat at the large dining area comfortably. We had a great stay. Thank you!

This place is fantastic. The location is excellent and peaceful, in a quiet, serene setting—perfect for relaxing after a day of skiing. Beautiful lake view. The house was impeccably clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable. All amenities worked as expected—lots of little nice touches around the house. The kitchen and bathrooms are spotless—drinkable tap water and no issues with hot water. The host was very friendly, welcoming and highly responsive, answering our questions immediately. My family loved the place. We will definitely stay there again.
