Welcome to our stunning Townhouse located in the lavish Gold Coast of Chicago—one of the most sought-after locations in the city!

Located on one of Chicago’s famous streets, you’ll be a 5-minute walk from the historic Gold Coast beach and intimate views of Lake Michigan.

The property is also within walking distance of the subway, where you can connect to the L trains, and the Magnificent Mile. It is the perfect place to stay for adventurous travellers and those who fancy a beach in the City!

The Space:
A beautiful home nestled nicely amongst greenery. Upon stepping into this 4-bedroom townhouse, you’ll be struck by the vast size and traditional decor combined with modern chic.

There is a large reception room as you enter; it’s a perfect spot for an afternoon read or seeking peaceful refuge should you not want to watch TV in the sitting room.

Moving on, you’ll walk on through to the large polished dining table and kitchen. Both of which are fully equipped for amateur chefs and foodies alike. Going up the stairs takes you into a lounge with comfy sofas and a fireplace—perfect for chilly and windy Chicago winters!

On the 2nd floor, we have 2 very large and spacious bedrooms, allowing lots of natural light and a shared bathroom with a bath.

The 3rd floor boasts the large master bedroom of the house with a bed fit for a king or queen. A large traditional tiled shower room fitted with a multijet Kohler digital shower will help you unwind after a day of exploring.

The living areas on located on the ground floor, with bedrooms on the 1st & 2nd floor. The house is big and open. It makes it a great place for everyone to chill out simultaneously, but equally offers privacy when you enter your room, should you want some quiet time.

If your group is going to be loud at any point, this is not the place for you!

PARKING
We have a small garage located at the back of the property that is usable for guests. It can comfortably accommodate a smaller-sized car (VW Golf or similar); however, it is not large enough to fit SUVs, minivans, trucks, or larger estate cars.

The neighbourhood is residential, so quiet must be observed after 10 pm every night.

Getting Around:
Our townhouse is very well located for public transport. The subway is within a 5-minute walk. There are bus stops at the end of the road.

PARKING
We have a small garage located at the back of the property for guest use. As mentioned elsewhere in the listing, It can comfortably accommodate a smaller-sized car (VW Golf or similar); however, it is not tall enough to fit SUVs, minivans, trucks or larger estate cars.

My suggestion is, if your car matches the sizes briefly explained above, to leave your car on the road out front, get all your luggage in, then take it round to our garage. The garage is accessed from inside the house by walking through the kitchen and down the little steps. Once you walk down the 6 steps, you will see the garage door. Please open it and enter. The electric button for the garage door is on the wall on the left-hand side as you walk through the door. This will open the garage.

As you walk out the front door of 71E Bellevue Pl, the access to our garage is approx 100m to the right of the property as you walk out (towards Lake Michigan) Just before 1000 N Lake Shore Plaza there is a tight turn to right, which will take you down the private road behind our house to the garage. 100m up that road, you will find the garage.

Unfortunately, we do not always have permits for the street.

There are multiple multi-storey car parks all within a 10-minute walk of the property. The prices vary from $30-60 per day depending on proximity to the property. There are also useful websites like SpotWhiz online, which have roadside parking spots to rent.

Please do not attempt to enter the basement unit. It is a separate property and listing.

A slice of old-world Chicago with all the modern touches.

Can not say enough about how much my family has been raving about our stay at your incredible home. The location put us smack in the middle of everything we wanted to see and we ended up walking to everything (even with ages from 9 months to 70!). On that note, thank y'all for including so many touches to make it easier with the little one. From the high chair, to the pack-n-play with an extra mattress and cover, everything we needed was there. We can't wait to come back!

Wonderful Chicago Experience

Beautiful old Gold Coast Townhouse within walking distance of everything we needed. Spacious accommodations with a lovely large dining area and comfortable TV lounging area at back of house. Close to plenty of dining options and Lake Michigan. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and bedding. Plenty of towels, coffee and tea. Comfy robes in every bedroom. Overall a wonderful experience.

DO NOT RENT!!!

If safety and customer service are your top priorities then do not rent this house. There was a mix up in the booking schedule and we showed up early to our reservation. That's when we found out that the door codes we were given to access the property were the same keys that they give all the renters. The codes we had were already programmed in and the key locks were open. The current renters were still inside the house when we walked in. When we contacted the owners and asked why we had the same door codes as the current renters they dismissed the situation claiming that they change the codes regularly. They refused to answer us as to why we were given codes several days in advance that matched the same access codes as the current renters. When we stated that we no longer felt safe or comfortable staying in a property with such lax security the owners refused to give a refund and let us cancel. AT NO TIME DID THEY OFFER ANY POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS! They ignored our questions regarding the security concerns and only responded that if we canceled we were not eligible for a refund. We called customer support and they were also concerned about he security and called the owners. Again the owners refused to allow us to cancel and still did nothing to offer a solution to the problem. It wasn't till the customer support manager asked them if they would be willing to immediately change the security codes that the owners finally agreed to anything. DO NOT TRUST THIS PROPER

Fantastic home away from home, nice neighborhood and close proximity to all!

It was great to stay in a beautiful grey stone in Gold Coast. Better yet it is located in an excellent area, less than 1/4 mile walking distance to the lake, around the corner from Michigan Avenue shopping, the Hancock Building, the Drake, Lou Malnati's and other great restaurants, and pharmacy-- we walked to all of these places! It felt like a home away from home with the layout of the home and nice neighborhood. It was stocked up with everything one needs in the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and family spaces. The interior was clean, welcoming and nicely decorated. My family was in town for my daughter's wedding and it was the perfect house for pre- and post-wedding activities. From when I reserved the house almost a year ago, to checking in, to checking out, were seamless. Julian was very responsive and clearly communicated all relevant information for the stay. It was noted the internet was not working upon check in, I notified Julian and in less than a couple hours, we had internet. The entire stay of 5 days were wonderful for me and my family. The experience setting it up to sadly checking out were pretty straightforward and easy. A big thank you to Julian and Jackie for the positive experience and the hospitality!

Wonderful location!

We stayed at this townhome because our daughter was running in the Chicago marathon. The location could NOT have been any better. It is a very short walk to the Magnificent Mile and close to the race start/finish, and there are grocery and restaurant options nearby. We were looking for a four bedroom place and I couldn't find anything else that fit the bill, so we are very glad to have had this. The home is old, so has some issues that one might expect. However, on top of those, the floors were not very clean, the fan above the stovetop didn't work, and there were even some tips of nails (the sharp part!) sticking out of the hall floor on the third floor. The radiators are extremely noisy when heating up. One should know that it is 39 steps from the main level to the master (which was not a problem for us). The property managers were very responsive to inquiries before, during and after our stay. Having noted all that, we were happy with our stay overall.

Excellent neighborhood and property

Gorgeous, large townhouse. We loved the location and the townhouse itself. The lock box was a little confusing because there are 2. In the age of door codes, I wasn’t expecting this. Another word of note: the staircase is old and the wood is worn on some places. If you have small children or someone who is unstable on their feet you might want to consider this.

Chicago Staycation

The is a beautiful historic home in a prime location just off Magnificent Mile. The home was clean and spacious. The garage was a plus. The house is conveniently located in the heart of Chicago with easy access to all Chicago’s neighborhoods. Gibson’s Steakhouse and the Original House of Pancakes are on the same street and both were hits with my teenagers. Communication with the property manager was timely and he made it easy to check in and out. I would highly recommend this property for your next trip to Chicago.

Great house/location, but abrasive messaging from host between booking and check in

The house is really great as is the location. I generally find that AirBNB/VRBO properties tend to be much worse in reality than they seem in the listing, but I actually think they undersell this property. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 due to the messaging from the host after booking until check in. Host was very serious about no parties/events (we had no intention of this) and that post-10pm (the listing says 11pm, feels like bait and switch) must be quiet, and if not the host will call private security/evict you/shut off power and water. These are pretty serious measures to throw around and made me feel very uneasy despite having no intention of having a party. Perhaps they did have a bad experience in the past but threat of eviction/shutting off power and water is too serious unless I would have broken some law with the noise, but the mention of private security made me feel that the bar for "noise" could be unreasonably low.

Great location, house / property manager needs some work

I had thought about leaving a bland “this place is good” type review, however those are all the reviews that I read when booking this place, and wish I had some more honest input given the price. The place is in a great location. There was awesome communication up until the actual rental started, and the owner even reimbursed us for some purchases when we said we wanted beach chairs! It was looking to be a really great trip. Upon arrival, the cleaning crew / house manager was there (we arrived a little early). We were then informed that the toilet on the second floor was broken. At first I thought no big deal, they said it would be fixed in a day. The toilet was covered with a black trash bag, which just felt a bit gross, but we still were excited. We then realized that half of the stove burners weren’t working, and the ovens were quite unpredictable. Additionally, there was old food in the stove knobs, crusted in there, and it was clear no one had really made an attempt to clean them. I contacted the house manager and she continued to respond regarding the toilet, but did not address the stove / oven issue. The house was also extremely hot. This is July in Chicago, and the AC really only works on the 3rd floor. And even then, the small top room with bunk beds got zero air flow and was unbearably hot. The other room up there was freezing due to us trying to crank the air to keep the rest of the house cool. The AC never really reached the 2nd or 1st floors, so we constantly repositioned the one fan that was in the house depending on where we were. The back room of the kitchen was an obvious extension, which was fine, but again it was so hot it was hard to be in there. That is where the tv is, and many of the tv hookups weren’t connected and we struggled to be able to watch anything (even when trying to log into our own apps). The sofa and chair were quite disgusting with stains and hair all over them. We had planned to cook multiple meals & were unable to do so. lack of response from the property manager regarding the state of the kitchen was quite frustrating. The house itself is old, which we had expected, but it doesn’t appear to have been maintained given the state of the kitchen and bathrooms. At one point the property manager asked us if we left the water running because the basement was flooded. We hadn’t. But they insisted they had to come in. During that time, neither the kitchen nor bathroom / toilet situation were addressed.

Perfect Place for Chicago Half Marathon

As a whole everything was great. We stayed as a family (all adults) to run the Chicago Half Marathon. Location was perfect and very convenient for both the race and to enjoy shopping and eating out. However, upon arrival there were dirty sheets in the bathtub as well as towels and sheets in the washer and dryer. It was clear that the cleaning staff did not finish cleaning on time. Thankfully, they were very receptive and offered to come take care of things upon messaging. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay!

Would stay there again--fantastic!

Unbeatable location, lovely separate sitting areas, well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, a feeling of homey luxury. We were five childhood friends getting together for a long weekend. Space worked well, though would be *even* better for families or couples due to bedroom arrangements (three couples plus kids in the bunk room, for example). Cabinets had coffee, sugar, basic spices, fridge clean and clear for our grocery delivery. Lots of rules and notes about things like quiet hours and using makeup towels vs. white towels posted around the house, which made it feel like someone's home even though I think it's a management company. We giggled about this, thinking they must have had some strange guests in the past. We would stay again, no hesitation. Accommodated our slightly early arrival/bag drop. Easy entry and exit.
