I’ll start with the good news. Staff was excellent. Darius at the front desk was the best welcome I’ve had in Charlotte. I didn’t catch her name but the bartender was excellent as well. I stayed in room 1606 and it was very clean and very accommodating with a full fridge, stovetop and sink. Unfortunately, when I returned to my room from a night out, my door was unlatched (maybe faulty door latch?) Made me feel weird since I remembered making sure it was shut before leaving (and DND tag was on door handle). After a thorough check of the room, I lied down and the AC struggled to cool the room, making it hard for me to fall asleep. If I had called downstairs I’m sure the great staff would have made their best efforts to remedy the situation but it was late and I just dealt with it. Only mentioning issues here so the next guests won’t have the same problems. The only other thing I would mention is that there is no self-parking -you have to valet and I found it on the steep side ($55 before tip). As a consumer, I believe if the Hilton charged less, it would encourage more tips for the drivers.

I was in town for concert at the Blumenthal Center and the Hyatt House was an easy walk to that venue; it's even closer to the Spectrum, which is right next door. And there are tons of bars and restaurants also within easy walking distance. So, it was ideal to be able to valet park my car (though a bit pricey!) and not have to worry about driving. Hotel staff were all remarkably friendly and helpful. My room was perfectly clean and quiet, and the hotel bar was perfect for drinks and light fare. Highly recommend.

Was told to contact expedia for refund. Expedia said they would contact hotel. Hotel said no. Im out $500 after doing what they said to do.
