We had a wonderful stay at our Capitola Beach Haven. We celebrated Mother's Day and our twin daughter's 31st birthdays and it couldn't have been more perfect. Beach Haven is doggie friendly so our son and his Golden were beyond stoked! We loved the open patio in between the two units. Surf City had everything well stocked, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had a nice dining table, the living room was tidy, inviting, and we loved the beach designs throughout. Jody and Hallie were our main contacts. They were GREAT! Very responsive and helpful in all our communications. Our next visit to Capitola will be another delightful stay at Beach Haven! Thank you, Surf City Team!

cute and cozy property, two buildings with a nice open patio in between. super clean, well maintained, six of us fit perfectly between the two buildings and hung out in the front room with TV for dinner and movies. amazing location, steps away from the colonnade, river walk, beach, pizza my heart! pet friendly, our shorkie loved it. kitchen well stocked with utensils plates etc and stove fridge. great spot, would def rent again when staying in the area

We very much enjoyed our stay. Can't beat the location for the cost. Great communicationthroughout the process and the hosts were very accommodating — we were able to check-in by 1pm! Also, that the place is pet-friendly is pretty atypical and appreciated but, no worries, this doesn't affect cleanliness. The place is spotless and free of pet odor. The layout is a bit strange in that one has to walk through bedrooms on both sides of the property to access bathrooms, but there are ways around this (enter bathrooms through courtyard) and we got used to it. It was a warm weekend in Capitola and the property on lookers right has a tendency to get warm but the porch and courtyard seating provided a cool reprieve. Parking is a game of musical chairs but is fine if you only have one car. All in all, would highly recommend and plan to return.

Prkgis difficult some will bloc walkway of unit so These two bungalow units would be fine for some, but not for others. First let me say that the location to walk to Capitola Village and beach. It’s on a very old, narrow street that leads you right into the Village and all the restaurants. The layout of both units are strange though. For both units, each bathroom is in the back. So anyone sleeping must walk through those sleeping to use a bathroom. The kitchen counter in unit one ( only kitchen for both units) is really tiny. I mean you won’t have counter space to prep unless you move the coffee pot to the table. It’s bare necessaries for some things, like one frying pan. We brought an electric griddle so we cooked bacon on that while someone else cooked eggs at the stove. If 4 ppl are eating at the table, they have to get up if anyone wants to get in to the fridge. The front door was swollen so we could only open it about a third. There’s no window coverings on the back bathroom in unit one so there’s apts or condos that can look right in to see you getting out of shower. The keurig in unit 2 was broken. No tv in unit 2 but the couch in unit 1 can comfortably seat 3 ppl to watch tv.. maybe 4 if small.. Knives dull Take note, no dishwasher, no dish drainer no drynig mat. There were 2 kitchen towels and one oven mit. So the dish towels were wet for 3 days. No washer or dryer and no place to dry those wet clothes from the beach. Eat at restaurants! Good price tho. Location!!!

This was such a cute property! The location was stellar, close to all the shops and the beach. Since it’s tucked away in a side street, it’s also super quiet. The only downside is parking in front of the location is a fight or a wait and watch for people to leave (but that is all of Capitola Village). The large public parking lot is about a 3 minute walk or so. We will definitely be back!

The location was perfect for our needs this weekend. The set up worked really well. Everything needed was supplied and all of good quality. Communication couldn’t be better.Only concern was parking but that was due to all happening in town this weekend. The system would have worked well if some of downtown was not blocked off. The alternatives shared by the host in their info worked well. We will likely use this again! Thank you

Our stay was wonderful! Location was great to proximity of capitola village, just steps to all the eatery’s and just a few more to the beach. The house was quite cozy and bonus as it’s really both havels of the courtyard and was not aware until arrival! But a pleasant surprise.

Great property in an awesome location.

We used Capitola as our home base and got out every day to hike California State Parks. We would come back in the afternoon and enjoy a restaurant and walk around Capitola beaches.

Family vacation

We pulled into Santa Cruz a little early, so we messaged the manager to let them know we were here a little early and if we could check in. The manager got back to us, letting us know that the room will be ready in about 15 minutes. We ran into her on the way, and then she showed us where the heaters are in both sides of the house. I’m glad she was there or we wouldn’t have known about the other side of the house cause we kind of forgot. The space is perfect for multiple people or groups. One room has bunkbeds perfect for children two rooms have a full-size bed and the main house has one bedroom a living room in the kitchen. There’s two bathrooms, which makes it perfect for people with teenagers showers work great but the hot water is limited so take a fast shower. The place doesn’t come with its own parking spot, but we never had a problem finding parking the place comes with its own parking permit making parking a breeze. Margaritaville is right around the corner and walking to the beach takes less than five minutes. We were traveling with our dog. This place is pet friendly and right next to the places that my dog likes to potty. There isn’t much to critique the only thing I could say is that some people park so close that you have a hard time getting to the door over all the stay was a success. the whole family is happy.Many thanks to the manager for helping us out.

Great location, but that's about it.

If you want to be able to walk to town, have a dog, and have plans to be out of the unit a lot, this works just fine. It's also probably way better in summer. It's actually 2 small long bldgs with an open courtyard attached. One unit has 1 br, small Kitchen, and sitting room on street, while the other 2 are in the other unit. One on street side. So you run between the two a lot, and it's not very private. Both are freezing and have one floor unit heat but then space heaters are needed. All That said, if you have a family and are going to just stage there in summer, not cook etc, or drive much - it's fine. Just super pricey for the trade off of location and pet friendly.

Cute and centrally located

We had a great weekend in Capitola. The house--well two mini houses--had everything we needed for our short stay, along with lots of added character and charm. There were plenty of beds for our group of five (included two teens and one college student), and the living areas were just large enough to hang out and enjoy breakfast and a take-out dinner. The only drawback was the location of the two bathrooms, as we had to walk through sleeping quarters in the middle of the night in order to use them. No other complaints! Highly recommend!

Cute little relic.

I would have totally given this place 5 stars. The beds were old and uncomfortable and there wasn't a "list" of items that were damaged. I spent the first few taking pictures of damages we did not do. The rest of the the time I giggled about stepping back in time in this bungalow. It had everything we needed and the short walk to the village was awesome. It was perfect for my family.

We had a great time with our daughter and our dogs. The uniqueness of the property(it was two separate units) allowed us to ignore the failure of hot water on one side. It is not a quiet location but it made for an enjoyable trip.
