Smelly But Nice

Beautiful quiet country setting and close to our destinations. Lovely back porch to enjoy the serenity. We would've rated it excellent if not for the dead rodent in the ventilation system. The heater was on when we arrived which caused the smell to spread through the house. We had to open the windows to ventilate. We left a message with the host and he never responded.

New from 1980

House was fresh out of 1980, old bathroom, kitchen, no tvs in bedrooms . We couldn't find the remote for the only tv. Two of us also saw mice running down the hall way. Besides that wasnt bad.

Burdette House Watkins Glen NY

Clean home, fully stocked, beautiful property and close to Watkins Glen attractions. I never used VRBO before so I was a little leery but the communication with the host and Evolve was excellent! We are looking forward to returning next year with our family.

Overall very positive

Would give 4.5 stars if it was an option. House was clean and well stocked. Walk through bedroom was noted in the listing, and would be fine for kids. We only ended up with 3 couples so it wasn’t an issue for us. Grill was out of gas which was kind of a bummer since we had planned to cook out. Location was good, and very peaceful.

Girls Trip

We had a great time at your home. Everything we needed was at the house. It was in a great location for all the things we wanted to go out and do. We had a little trouble finding the key to get into the house since it was not specified in the directions and not by the front door. Otherwise everything was great. Thanks!

Pleasant stay

We stayed in the property for a week. Overall it's a pleasant experience. The location is safe, quite, a very short drive to Seneca Lake and nearby parks. It's about 40 min drive to Cornell University. Although the interior of the property is dated, it provides all the necessities. Bedrooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. Washer and dryer work perfectly but the dishwasher did not clean dishes well. I informed the property manager and he did respond promptly.

Very clean except flies,comfotable,accomadated 8 adults very nicely. Need to be clearer about gas grill( nopropane) on site had to go out and buy one. Also called host upon arrival about heater issue,never heard back all weekend. Went out bought cube

Quaint Home

Quaint home away from the traffic and business of Watkins Glen. However, it is close enough to downtown and a number of wineries and breweries in the area. Home is well kept and comfortable. Great back porch for enjoying the peace and quiet. Owner very responsive. Would highly recommend.

Water smelled badly

The place was clean and the location was Ok, but the water which was from the well, smelled terrible, and it was hard to use it for showers or washing dishes. I have been in many other cottages that use the water from well, but it never smells this bad. It was like it was coming from the septic tank. Also, Ac was not working properly and I am glad the first night the weather was not that hot. Finally, it was supposed to be a none smoking place but one room definitely smells of cigarettes. Overall it is not worth it for that price.

A great getaway but close to the action

Love coming to Watkins Glen. This property was a perfect location. Central air worked great. Just AC unit outside by porch was very loud. Couldn't really enjoy the porch to read. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom shower in room by driveway is very small. Someone who is over 5ft 4 in. Will be very tight. Kitchen well stocked. TV is updated so you can login and watch all your shows on a rainy day.

Gets the job done

My friends and I stayed here for a nearby wedding and it was decent for a 2 night stay since we were mostly out of the house. It is spacious and we enjoyed the large living room and porch. A few issues we had for future guests to keep in mind: the shower water gives a strong sulfur smell (although we all still smelled clean after a shower), the tap water doesn’t taste good (seems to be a regional issue), we received the wrong lock box code to get into the property and had to contact the owner (who luckily did respond quickly), for one bedroom you have to walk through another bedroom to get there, and one bathroom door wouldn’t stay closed properly. If those types of things don’t bother you then it’s a decent stay!

We had issue with lock outside could not open , in Lillie while someone came and they couldn’t open either wasted 1 hr to get in finally guy gave us new key One more than water quality was so bad , smell like fish died , we were so scared to use to cook We spend so much money on water even taking shower or morning mouth care was impossible Please talk to owner , not healthy at all Otherwise no issue close to all

Great location to Finger Lakes

The Burdett House was clean and cozy and a great location to explore the Finger Lakes and beyond. The yard and porch was very serene for sipping wine or tea. The rental process was very easy. Perfect for large families or 2 couples with the 2 bathrooms and separate living areas. Would recommend.

If you like central AV, this place is for you!

Bedrooms are spacious, wifi is good. Cannot open windows due to lack of screens, so stuck in AC or on back porch with AC running loudly in your ear. Location is nice for access to Watkins Glen and many wineries.

Wne Weekend Getaway 2022

We had a great time this past weekend in the finger lakes. The house was roomy and fit all 7 of us comfortably. The weather was unseasonably cool, so we did not get to enjoy the outdoors too much. My only comment would be that 2 of the bedrooms were connected. You had to walk through the one bedroom to get to the other bedroom. Was not a big deal, with our group, but could be an issue with other groups. Overall, we would rent this place again without hesitation. T.
