This house/duplex worked out well for our family as we celebrated my father-in-law's birthday. It is a duplex but this was great as it allowed extra living and kitchen space for our group. The house is very nicely decorated and was clean. It is also close to the beach.

The Bonita Rita in Bonita Springs, Florida, was a spacious, comfortable place to hold our entire family while visiting FL for grandma‘s 90th birthday! Everything was in working order except for the pool heater. We arrived Wednesday, and I had called Sunday to pay the fee for the pool and was told that it should be ready by Wednesday, and it was not. Yes, there were exceptional cooling trends in the weather, but I came from a place where there are negative degree temperatures out and our hot tub remains heated at 104, so if a product is being offered, the product should be delivered. And the kitchen was nice and fully stocked with plenty of dishware and flatware, the refrigerator was nice and clean and an adequate size for our party of 10 adults and five infants. The dishwasher worked well. The washing machine worked well, but the dryer took hours for anything to dry, which is pretty normal in a humid state like Florida. Working with the VACASA representative was not ideal. She did not have a sense of urgency nor did she take responsibility for the pool. Although Mandy was disappointing, all the other people we worked with were professional. Since it was raining some of the days, the garage filled with toys and with a ping-pong table really helped pass the time and promoted family fun for sure! When the hot water was not working in the upstairs bathroom, that was mentioned on a Friday, and then it was taken care of the next day by a very helpful technician. All in all good.

I would stay at this home again! It was perfect for what we needed. I would give it 5 stars but there were a few annoying things that should be fixed. Ice maker in main house was broke. We didn’t know or we would have gotten ice before we checked in. I’d say fix it or leave an unopened bag in the freezer for guest. The slider going out….I realize it’s a hurricane proof door but it became a joke trying to open and close it. Where as the screen door going out had no spring and just slammed every time someone went in and out. The dryers in both units are awful. They just ran all day. No heat…if upgraded they wouldn’t be a waste of electric. We had an issue with the pool/spa heat but were refunded when we got home. Oh, and please put a piece of warning wood or flag up in driveway ifo the water pipes coming up. We had to go buy trash bags and all paper products. 1 new roll of t- paper and 1 extra trash bag a trash can did not even almost cut it. Other wise, this place was clean, comfortable, plenty of towels, blankets. We had propane for the grill. Plenty of parking. The smaller side was perfect for my parents. We opened the gate and used the backyard to go back and forth that was really nice.

Great place for a large group

We had a group of ten adults and a baby. The property is in a great location to shops, restaurants and the beach. Several pack and plays and high chairs were available at the property . Both sections of the rental were fairly well stocked. The larger half had a big couch in a large space where we often hung out. The outdoor pool area wasn't fancy but we spent several hours lounging in the pool each day. The ping pong table in the garage was a big hit with my adult sons. It is a comfortable home and we were all very happy with our choice. Communication with the rental management company was very good.

Advertised differently than experienced

Overall, the property is okay. It consists of two connected houses, but there is no interior entry. You must go outside to get into the other property. We rented the 6-bedroom house and only had access to a 4-bedroom house. The property manager didn't respond until 11:19 PM on our second night. We went from renting a bedroom for each person to sharing bedrooms. We also only had half of the rented full bathrooms, making getting six people ready in the morning difficult. The hot tub is not an amenity but an extra cost item. This is not described in the listing. The listing also didn't share that it is 2 separate houses. I avoided other incredible 2 house locations because we wanted everyone in the same house. We are 6 business associates who get together annually in a cool location for annual business planning. Having everyone in one house is essential to continue conversations after our meetings. A clear description of the house and having to pay an extra 3 days in advance for the hot tub would have changed my interest in this location. I would have paid for the hot tub if they had told us in advance, but in the listing, they call it an amenity like other things that come with the rental.
