Perfect House for Off Season

This is the second time we've stayed here, and it was just as great as last year. The location can't be beat and the views are incredible. Wonderful kitchen and the top floor is great for watching movies (on the big screen), reading, or just hanging out as a family. The owners are always accessible, and are quick to respond to any questions or concerns. The beach is just a minute away, and is one of the best in OBX. We love going in the off season - the weather is wild and most times we have the beach to ourselves. Being able to bring our four pawed children is important to us, and we're grateful that this house welcomes them. We look forward to visiting again next year!

Great family getaway

This was a great place for a quick family getaway. The house is beautiful and just a minutes walk from the beach. The gaming table was great and we used it a lot. The hot tub was so nice to soak after a full day of fun out in the sun! We would definitely stay here again!

Fabulous stay!

The owners were amazing with communication and responded promptly. The property and location were perfect! We enjoyed all of the "extras" like the infinity games table, ping pong table, outdoor cornhole and connect four, and other games and amenities. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots pans, etc. The property was clean, as well. Great vacation rental!

Amazing Off Season (Short) Vacation

First off, staying on OBX during the off season is incredible. No traffic, having the beach to yourself, and the quiet! Cold means nothing when you have a hot tub, and this house has a great one! We loved the house - plenty of room for everyone, great location, and a wonderful new kitchen. The view from every level was awesome. No houses between you and the pier - one of the best views of the ocean in Avon. Families with younger kids will love the game room and huge TV on the top level. Pet friendly lay out - gates on every deck level. A very short walk to beach access. We loved the solitude of the off season, but this house would be at the center of everything during the summer. A great find! We're so happy we stayed here!

NYE Weekend

It is a great house with lots of room and a comfortable living/cooling area. The views are lovely. Our only negatives are flat pillows and hard towels. These are minor with such a great property.

Stunning property

Everything about the property suited us to a T. Michelle replied to communications within minutes and was so accommodating when asked to change the schedule slightly. The decor and house was beautiful and there was literally everything there that you could possibly need. We loved that we could keep the dogs contained on each floor's deck. The view was awesome. We know that when we want to head back down to OBX, we will want the same house. Love it!

House needs a deep cleaning

We entered a very DIRTY and extremely DUSTY house. From old moldy coffee in the maker to food stuck on pans to cigar butts on the porch and trash the middle of the bedroom floor to black mold of mildew around the sliders to bathroom door that didn’t close. Dust bunnies were hanging from the ceiling, and thick dust on the blinds (a dangerous environment for our child with asthma). No basic cleaning supplies weren’t available. I reached out explaining the condition of the house and unfortunately the owner’s reply was extremely defensive. As a property owner myself I would have been so embarrassed for a renter to have an experience like this one however this owner replied to my concerns that ‘her housekeeper had a stroke’ so apparently she was aware the house didn’t get a good cleaning. Her suggestion was to have the asthmatic child sit in the chair by the air purifier. Completely unacceptable! 2/3 of our family had to end vacation early because it was just so gross and honestly dangerous. We thought the owner didn’t know about the mess but SHE DID and DIDNT CARE. We vacation a ton using short term rentals and have never had any issues. She did offer $50 to cover the cleaning supplies we had to purchase ourselves (hand soap, dish soap, etc) and to have it dusted. We are definitely easy going people and understand things happen but the combination of the mess and her not caring ridiculous! RUN from this property!

Very Enjoyable Stay!

The property was very nice, the location was excellent and the ocean views for a non ocean front home were unbeatable! The beach was very close by with the fishing pier right next door. The best part was that the owners seemed to take pride in providing timely responses to our communication and truly interested in us enjoying our stay.

The Good & The Bad

The Good: Location is perfect. The Master Suite Bed is very comfortable. Nice Refrigerator, Washer and Dryer. There is an Infiniy Game Table that was fun to use. The Hot Tub/Jacuzzi was nice after it was re-cleaned. The Ping Pong Table was fun after Husband and Son cleaned the game room and received new paddles 4 days into our stay. The Bad: Pictures on line are very deceiving. When you get there the house is in a state of neglect inside and out. Basketball net is wripped halfway off. Outside Garbage Can has only 1 wheel. Blinds are broken throught the house. Closet Doors broken. Main Hall Throw Rug smelled of animal pee/feces. I placed it outside on the porch. I do have current pictures as of 8/13 that the owner did not want to see. Last Comment: The owner did have the Hot Tub/Jacuzzi re-cleaned, grass cut, and ordered new ping pong paddles from Amazon that got delivered to the house. Offered to have the house re-cleaned. We declined the re-clean and did it ourselves. We were given a cleaning fee refund. Thank you!

Wonderful family vacation!

Wonderful family vacation!

This cottage was perfect for our family with kids in different age ranges! The gaming table and game room were perfect for rainy afternoons or taking breaks from the sun. Memorial Day Rainy Weekend

The weather was pretty stormy (chilly, wet) but we still had a wonderful time. We could watch the waves from the house and on Sunday things brightened up and we were able to go to the beach and fish. The house had plenty of games/things to entertain our group and restaurants were close by so that was a bonus as well. Everything was clean and the layout of the home was quite nice for our group.

Outstanding

Dare Dream worked perfect for our family! The place was clean and linens and towels were all provided which was a plus! It saved us more space for packing. The view is amazing and it’s not that far from the beach. We also had the view of the pier which was nice being able to see if anybody was catching anything. They have a very nice fish cleaning station also. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we possibly could need. It was the first place that provided a few things like coffee, coffee filters, paper towels, etc. Communication with the owner was above and beyond. They responded immediately to every question and even sent a maintenance guy over immediately for an issue we had. I highly recommend this place and I don’t think you would be disappointed.

A Perfect Place

The house was in a great location and had everything we needed. There was wind and rain when we arrived and we had trouble getting into the home. I called Michelle and she answered immediately. She is, without a doubt, the best host! There was a great game table in the living room area that my grandson loved. We played a lot of games on that table. There is a room downstairs with a ping pong table that my older grandchildren enjoyed. I would not hesitate renting this house again. Thank you Michelle for sharing your home with us!

The house was exactly as described and was perfect for our family of five. The views from the back deck were amazing and that’s where we enjoyed our morning coffee.
