I’m trying to be generous but there really wasn’t much good about our stay. The location was great, the staff were pleasant, and the room was large in size. However, the ancient window in our room opened out, which is dangerous enough with kids, but it wouldn’t close properly and kept opening overnight in the wind. There was zero sound insulation from the street and we heard everything - traffic, people at the pool in the tower opposite, facing our room, people on the street. The room was in desperate need of renovation, to the point where I didn’t want the kids walking on the carpet with bare feet. The beds were soft, the pillows lumpy. They tried to charge us $45 for valet parking when the carpark across the street was $30. It was fine for one night but I wouldn’t recommend it and I wouldn’t stay again.

The location is excellent and the price is reasonable for a downtown hotel. The hotel is clean but is starting to look dated. There was no food in the hotel at all during my stay due to the restaurant being renovated. The biggest problem though was the bed. It was far too soft and it was two single beds pushed together. My back was in agony after a three night stay. I think this was a lovely hotel twenty years ago but no longer the case.

Great stay in the centre of town. Easily walkable to waterfront. Good bus transport links locally. Room clean, beds extremely comfortable, decor slightly dated (but is called the heritage hotel). Had good weather so only used roof top gym and pool/hot tub, great facilities. Didn’t go to the indoor facilities so can’t comment. Had a couple of technical issues with the booking but was sorted promptly by friendly staff. Staff also able to give good local advice and knowledge. Restaurant (run separately to hotel) was not open whilst we were there, shame we weren’t able to grab a coffee/something to get within hotel but lots of local options. Would stay again.
