Sadly, while I really want to be able to recommend the Commodore, I simply can't based on the noise factors. It's a cool hotel in a historic old building. But the window glass is paper thin, the window frames might be the originals, and the amount of noise from the street was insane. Yes, they offer ear plugs at the front desk, but that's not really the answer. With no AC and abundant cool night air, you want to leave the windows open. But you simply can't if you want to sleep past 5am when garbage trucks and construction vehicles stream by.
There was nothing else wrong with the place. Location is AMAZING. Staff was super friendly. Room was clean and cozy (we had a private bath room, and the shower was great!)
But it was Sofa King loud, if you know what I mean. Unbearable in the early hours of the morning.
It makes me sad to leave a bad review on that, but I would not stay there again, despite all the other positives. Nothing outweighed that loudness in the morning.
