Staying in this cute cabin was one of the highlights of our trip. It had everything we needed and was super comfortable. Nice area to sit outside. Very clean and well decorated. The "fish" theme was carried throughout including fish shaped cookies without being "kitschy" or over-the-top. All of the little touches were impressive, including local brochures in a tackle box. Lovely garden area with very cute wallabies at night. You share a wall with other guests but everyone was quiet in evening. Appreciated ceiling fans, nespresso maker with milk and communication with host. Super easy check in and check out. We are so glad we came to Kangaroo Island and would definitely recommend staying here.

Our Mr and Mrs Fish Cabin was really clean and comfortable and a pleasure to return to each evening after a day touring the island. Observing the koalas living in the tree next to the cabin was a real bonus.

Our room was really comfortable and very homely but tastefully decorated at the same time. Good bed and good cooking facilities. The kitchen was well stocked. We had beautiful gum trees with koalas right near our door. American River is a great location as its half way between Penneshaw and Kingscote. We really enjoyed our stay.

We have travelled 10,500 miles to be here and we found these unique “Fish Cabins”.They have been very well appointed extremely clean and a large spacious room.Very well decorated and all utensils you would need to facilitate your own cooking.Victoria and Robert are excellent host ensuring that you’ve settled in OK and a quick introduction to the two Koala’s situated in your garden!!!Fantastic three nights close drive to all points North East of the Island…million dollar question…would we come back?YOU BET!!!!

American River is a beautiful area. Our stay at Mr and Mrs Fish cabins was quiet and comfortable. Loved being so close to the water and the wildlife. Very friendly host. Gorgeous quirky decor and relaxed vibe. Would stay again!

Fabulous!

This was a spur of the moment trip. I have to say it turned out perfectly. Victoria and her husband are such beautiful souls. We felt happy already. The cabins are so artistically done. Everything is so well thought out. If I could I would have stayed longer. I will definitely want to come back

Quiet and relaxing

The wonderful Victoria welcomed us and provided a lovely welcoming letter. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and everything you need for a quiet, relaxing stay. Definitely recommend.

This property has great character. Victoria has a very creative and inspired touch in decorating and detailing the renovation of the property. It’s quirky, fun and extremely comfortable and well appointed! The bed is superior in comfort. Kylie Koala is right above the cabin comfortably perched in the gum tree outside. The property is well positioned and very peaceful. Victoria is a marvelous welcoming host. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay 🌟🌟🌟

Mr & Mrs Fish Cabins

The cabin was really clean and fresh and welcoming on walking in and was what we were looking for. A real bonus was the location, American River is a spectacular place to visit we had a koala in the tree over our cabin a pair of endangered parrots visited while we were there and wallabies hopping by while sitting out in the evening with spectacular views and sunsets over the bay just around the corner.

Fresh, tranquil fishy getaway

This newly refurbished cabin is spacious, modern and quirky. A nice quiet location central to many attractions and an easy walk to the beach. Victoria was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. With a comfy fold out futon bed there was plenty of room for my husband and I and a teenage exchange student who was with us. I would highly recommend this cabin for your stay on KI.

Fun Adventure

Meticulously decorated with outstanding attention to detail! Wild wallpaper that is transfixing. Lovely quiet location with unusual gum tree. All you could want in an apartment and very well appointed. Top rating from me and my friends who briefly visited.
