We stayed in this hotel many times and our experiences varied from quite good to excellent depending on what room we were lucky to get (some of them were better in point of cleanliness and modern looking features and some not), what staff member received you at the front desk (some of them were just excellent and some were not), but there never was an awful experience, and we always were quite satisfied with our stays to look forward for more of them in a future. P.S. The nice touch we've noticed: though a breakfast is not complementary, but they put out a hot pot of oatmeal in the lobby for the guests, and once we've tried it and were pleasantly surprised with how delicious it was.
We spent one night as the nor’easter knocked out electricity to our house. We got the last room as the storm decimated the area. Room was clean, but missing shampoo which never materialized despite calls. Good value for the price.
The front desk staff were very polite and professional, but I still couldn't help being a little upset that our room wasn't ready. At 3 pm (earliest check-in time) the room wasn't ready. At 4 pm the room still wasn't ready. We checked in anyway, left some of our bags at the front desk, and went to our event (The Philadelphia Flower Show) without getting a chance to freshen up (shower, shave, and change clothes). At 10:30 pm will had to wait again--this time for our turn in line at the front desk. We got a discount for the inconvenience--this was good. We were assigned the room closest to the lobby on the ground floor--not so good, but this was bearable. I usually prefer rooms on upper levels where there is less people traffic passing by my door. Thank goodness there weren't any loud groups of people in the lobby. Our room looked clean and in good condition. The decor was good. The bathroom looked very clean and had plenty of space. Everything in the room was in good working order. Overall a mostly positive experience.
I booked a bunch of rooms online for 35 family members coming in for a funeral service over the weekend. The sales manager Janet picked up on what I was doing and reached out to me to plan things in a more organized fashion. She set up all of the rooms so they could enjoy the benefits of my platinum status. During the weekend the hotel staff treated my group with polite enthusiasm, flexibility, kindness and caring. Booked my room via Marriott's website. Could not have been easier. Check in was smooth. Room was clean and comfortable. I felt it was a good value. Was visiting the University of Delaware with my son. Good proximity to the school. Only 10 minutes away. Only small issue was lack of a complimentary breakfast when I was positive the website said there was one. Anyway, it didn't ruin the visit. Staff was friendly and I would definitely recommend this property.
My husband and I and my sister and I have been staying at this Marriott several times while visiting my elderly parents . All of the staff are so pleasant and helpful and they always remember us . The rooms are clean and comfortable . We have been upgraded a couple times and the suites are great . On our last visit , there was a small problem with our toilet and they instantly moved us to a suite ! We will continue to return when we visit the folks , the atmosphere is perfect . The GM Patricia Robinson is excellent , D’wayne and especially Odonna (forgive and misspells) who goes above and beyond to make us feel at home . Highly recommended !!! Julie D
I continue to stay at this hotel when my travels bring my husband and I to Delaware. Everybody is always so welcoming and more than willing to help. Justin helped us up to our room with the luggage cart as we never travel lightly. Tykeasha in the bistro was more than a gracious host, asking us about our travels while we sipped on our wine. The amenities that this hotel offers are unmatched compared to other hotels in the area. They offer a gift wrapping station in case you needed any Christmas gifts wrapped last minute. Entire staff from the restaurant to front desk and housekeeping were as friendly as can be. Will definitely be back on our next trip.
Hotel was near several restaurants. This hotel doesn’t have a continental breakfast but they do have an “oatmeal bar” and there is a bistro inside. The room was very clean & comfortable but they didn’t carry shower caps like most other hotels. The staff is phenomenal in making sure you have a nice stay. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
The staff at this hotel greeted us with tidings of comfort and joy from the time we arrived to the time we left. They made our stay with our grandchildren very special. This facility is truly a feather in the Marriott cap. We highly recommend it. We will return again and again. We wish all at this hotel the happiest of holidays as they did for us.
My husband and I, who are Marriott Gold card members, went to Longwood Gardens for the Christmas display. It was the first snowfall so we were cold and wet when we arrived. We were greeted by Adonna, who was to check us in. Within moments of speaking with her we felt very welcome. She offered helpful and valuable information to ensure that our stay was the best it could be. The level of courtesy, caring and kindness she displayed to us would be hard to match anywhere else . We have been here before and will return!
