We stay here when visiting relatives in Elgin and Hampshire. It is a nice, clean hotel with good size rooms with kitchens. We find it convenient to roads and dining and shopping. The hot breakfast is a real plus.
I booked on Marriott website and an error on the arrival date was done. I only noticed that the dates were incorrect when I saw the charge in my credit card. I never received a confirmation or hotel bill from them. I contacted the hotel and stated that there was an error with the dates and asked for the manager to call me back. Manager had her assistant call me back to tell me there is no way they can help me out. I asked if they can just give me credit so I can use the room in the correct date. They refused! I contacted their 1-800 number in which the customer service contacted the hotel and they stated there is no way they would work out anything and it is too late. I would advise anyone not to use any Marriott hotels. I travel every month for events and now I feel it is important for people to know to know about each hotel and how helpful they are.
I enjoyed my stay rooms are like 1 bedroom apartments an the rooms are very clean. Breakfast was awsome. Staff was very friendly espiecally the front desk staff . Close to the airport. Hotel gps direction was right on point.
Stood in one of the suites for a few days during the week for work. I was really pleased with the room and the hotel. Check in and check out were easy. The hallways of the hotel smelled really clean each day lol my room was clean. I was really happy the bathroom was clean. That's usually my biggest concern. The room was equipped with some plates, pans, and cups. It would be a really good spot for an extended stay. The only thing is that there's a truck area behind the hotel that tends to run overnight, but the noise isn't enough to bother. They do provide free breakfast in the morning. They do allow pets, but I wish the fee wasn't so much. I do understand that some people don't clean after their pets as well as they should for the next guests. There's restaurants and gas stations right next door. There are also stores a little further down the road. I'll definitely look to stay here again for my next work trip.
I spent three nights at this hotel recently, opting to stay there instead of the "official hotel" 10 miles further uo the road. I got more room for less money, and a free and good breakfast too. I've found that most all Marriott properties are reliable, and to me that is a good thing. I expect clean, quiet, a comfortable bed and a good night's sleep. The Towneplace Suite hotel concept provides all of that AND an acceptable free breakfast too. I paid 1/3 less than the "group rate" at the convention hotel chosen by the group and got a better room. While the property appears to be fairly new (or it is immaculately maintained) it also appeared to be FULL on Friday and Saturday nights. I know that at least one softball team was there (chatted with a couple moms during the breakfast self-serve line). The team was either very well behaved or the hotel is very soundly constructed, it was QUIET.
We came to NE Illinois to ride bike trails. This property was close to our access point (ten minutes away). It was a quiet and pleasant place to recharge. Our room was large enough for us and our bikes. It was clean, had plenty of desk space, closet and drawer space. However, counter space in the bathroom was inadequate. Front desk personnel were cheerful, friendly, and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was standard.
We stayed here for a very large basketball tournament, & the staff was TOP NOTCH! They were SOOOOOO nice! The breakfast was delicious, and better than most (for a "hotel continental breakfast")! The pool was kind of small, but we found out that we could use the pool of the adjoining hotel! I LOVED that there were 4 washers and 4 dryers and we didn't have to wait forever to wash the team uniforms! The kitchen was fully stocked with all the cooking and cleaning necessities you needed, but I did not have time to cook, lol! It was close to many restaurants and local activities, and we will definitely return if we are in the area!
I was disappointed in this property as an extended stay. I chose this hotel because it was close to where I needed to be and because I wanted space for my family. The furniture and carpet had some weird stains and the room smelled bad. It was very hard to relax and feel comfortable. I decided to change my stay the next day and got out of there.
So i stayed for three nights the 10 of June... Came back the 14 th. for another four nights..Our first sty was booked by Hotels.com We got an two bedroom suite ..Great :-) Next time was booked on Marriots Home page... we got an small room.. no good for me and my daugter.. I asked the lady in the front desk if we could pay more for an biger room.. She told us that al rooms where sold out, but i could by an singel... i got room 120, an room for disabled.. THE ROOM STINKED LIKE A BROTHELL OFF SMOKING!! I Complained to the lady... She totaly ignored my complaint and was rude.. Next day after haveing the widow open all night... the room and the rug smellt so bad!! I talked to a other lady in the front desk.. the house ceeper came to the room and found the room terrible..and gave me a new one I sent an mail to Marriot who ignored me.. and did not answer.. So they made me pay for an totaly unaceptable room.. i am so angry and will never return to any Marriot place.... Good Things: a washing mashine and dryer ... good breakfast.. good staff exept the impolite lady...
I checked-in online using the Marriott app, and the room was ready for us at arrival. Checkin at the reception took less than a minute - they had the keys ready for us. Full marks for that. Breakfast area was a bit messy, but otherwise they had a decent offering. I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite on the ground level, and the room AC was a bit noisy and there was a weird smell in the room, probably from something that was cooked before in there.
