Georgetown Inn

Recent guest reviews

The location in Georgetown is great, and the second floor room that I stayed in was very good. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and tidy. The staff was as good as one would expect for a hotel of this quality and price range. Since I was in D.C. on business, and going to bed early, my only complaint is that my room was near the elevator and therefore I could hear any noise in the hallway. Also, the walls are thin so that I could hear noise from the adjacent room. I would suggest a room farther from the central elevator area if you want more quiet. The adjacent restaurant is good, though somewhat pricey. The breakfast omelettes are excellent and the coffee good enough, even for this Seattle coffee lover. As a bonus, on a Saturday morning, I happened to sit next to a national TV political commentator and a table full of politicos, including, I think, one current and one retired U.S. Senator. It was amusing to overhear their loud and spirited conversation.

I arrived at the front desk and was unsure what to do with our car as no valet was there and there is little room to live park. I felt the front desk person needed a little training in cheerful customer service as she seemed annoyed that I did not know what to do with my car. When the valet was found he was a delight and had the “how can I help you” attitude. The room itself was great with a nice view, crisp white sheets and seemed very clean. They offered two free water bottles and coffee which is always nicer than getting charged $5 for water. As we left for dinner we noticed to be discarded furniture sitting in the hall (it kind of smelled bad) which sat there until Saturday morning. The restaurant offers a discount for guests and after a long drive we opted to stay in for dinner. I had filet mignon which was good as was our shared Calamare. My daughter had the chicken parm which was inedible (I tasted and agreed) She couldn’t eat it. To sum up: management should give lessons to the front desk in how to be exuberantly welcoming (the valet guys could teach). Housekeeping should keep corridors as clean and fresh smelling as the rooms. And an overhaul of the potentially good restaurant would attract better crowds (Friday night on Georgetown homecoming was pretty dead). Overall a good hotel that could be fabulous.

Was in for just one night. Close to many conveniences and restaurant was very good.

I like staying at this hotel Nice hotel & close to the famous getogetown cupcake

Being near restaurants and shopping was nice, but the hotel itself was very nice. Very historical and kept up very well. We will be back.

Great hotel and good restaurants within walking distance.

Stayed for 2 nights. It's a bit pricey, but for the location, it's worth the money. Breakfast is not included, but you can easily find restaurants nearby. Valet staff was nice too. Had the 2-queen-beds room, it was cosy and kinda roomy. Overall, great stay!

Great location. Good Value. Clean. Cable TV did not work for two nights and the room was not serviced. Will give them another try. Great staff.

Location for the hotel was terrific - hotel itself was nice but a bit dated. As a business traveler it was solid - I would stay again.

the hotel was great for the price we paid and was very convenient for us. However the valet service and parking leaves much to be desired. The valet staff and front desk were completely out of touch causing me to make multiple trips to both to relay a message for them.

The location and staff is what really makes this hotel a good stay. The location is good if you're into mainstream shopping and icecream. The stores don't have the personality and charm they did 10 years ago. Corporate take over I guess. I guess that's why we like the Georgetown Inn, because it's not a Holiday Inn or Marriott. Still felt like a human experience. The restaurant downstairs was good. Again, the staff was amazing. Such kind people.

Very good hotel in the middle of Georgetown with good access to bus lines, cabs, etc. I went to DC for work and stayed there. The hotel price was cheaper than most other hotels but the value for money is very good. I booked through this website but didn't include breakfast. I had to go to DC and decided to take the bus. Very convenient as the Circulator line leaves every 10 minutes in front of the hotel and others are one block away. The hotel is right in the middle of all the restaurants and amenities in Georgetown. The staff are very friendly and greet you each time you go in or out. The only two negative things that I noticed were: the smell in the lobby. It smells as if you are arriving in a cheap motel. The second thing is that I ate at the hotel restaurant. The food selection was good and the steak I ate was excellent. However, it is more on the expensive side and the staff there were not very friendly. Its mainly young guys and their attitude wasn't the best and didn't seem to like their work. In general terms, excellent hotel to stay. The rooms were excellent, clean and elegant.

The room was a decent size and everything was laid out in fashion that makes sense for the space. The biggest upside to this hotel was its location and pretty much everything else was as expected for a $200-$300 per night hotel.

I would highly recommend. Extremely helpful staff! Great Location.

Staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating.

EXCELLENT LOCATION NICE CONVENIENT RESTAURANT GOOD FOOD EXCELLENT FRONT DESK STAFF

Georgetown Inn was a great place to stay to enjoy Georgetown and a performance at the Kennedy Center - only a five minute cab ride.

The Inn is well located in Georgetown, amidst many shops and restaurants, and on several bus routes. The building is old and in need of updating: slow elevators, uninsulated restaurant windows, strange shower, old plumbing, somewhat banged-up furniture. Comfy bed but very high off the ground, as opposed to the toilet which was very low to the ground. Spacious room with two windows. Very nice staff. A few blocks' walk from the Potomac. Good restaurant. Delicious BLTs. Jazz combo on Friday evenings at the restaurant.

Excellent location. The superb service from the front desk, valet, bellman, maids and restaurant wait staff is striking. The room was bright and spacious and the bed was wonderfully comfy! I did not want to leave!

The hotel needs an update "BIGTIME". Was locked out of my room for an hour because the card reader door lock was broken. Their card key system is from the 80's. Static electricity renders the card useless. Enjoyed making multiple trips to the front desk to get it reprogramed. The one thing positive thing, is the beds are very comfortable.

Thank you for completing the survey regarding your recent stay at our property. On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. Your satisfaction is important to us and we will be using the feedback you gave us to implement improvements to ensure we offer a better experience for guests in the future. I am very disappointed to hear in how the front desk welcomed you during this past stay. We are always working to ensure that the team members we hire are customer oriented and always willing to help with a smile and a positive attitude. This is obviously not what you received and I deeply regret that. In regards to the furniture, we have been replacing them for the last month and are finally coming to an end. We tried to clear the hallways as quickly as possible and it is quite unfortunate that this impacted your stay. I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience. Tiago Santos
