And have stayed at various vacation club properties. This one needs some love. The accommodations are clean , but everything in the unit (1 bed, 2 bath) looks worn and in need of replacement from the dressers to the couches. To the soft goods in the kitchen. The pool area is not very welcoming either. The outdoor hot tub’s jets only partially work, and it makes an awful sound when turned on. The wall is full of corrosion and the towel hooks are broken. For those of us who only like to ski half a day. The shuttle wait is too long, and the mvc sales staff is too aggressive here. I had two phone calls prior to arriving, 2 while here, Plus a visit to our unit. If I weren’t an mvc owner already, I would never pay their crazy prices! Stay elsewhere for better quality and location. Not up to Marriott quality standards.

My husband and I stayed here for a week while our kids were in Copper for a ski camp. I was disappointed when I first entered our one bedroom unit. I have stayed at a number of Marriott timeshare locations. This one is not quite as spacious or up to date. The coziness does start to grow on you and the unit has everything you need. The shuttle was a huge convenience and made getting to and from Vail Village very easy. Although first impressions were not that great, I would stay here again.

Spent a week in Douglas building in early October while the Aspens were gold. Vail was absolutely beautiful. Our condo was excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our condo had a nice view of the mountain across I70, the king bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The Internet was fast and reliable. Will definitely be back.

Four of us stayed a week, and the place rated a 'fair'. Furniture is dated. Lighting in the unit was grim. Units up front hear Noisy I-70 traffic. Units in the rear face a steep wall of dirt - very claustrophobic, and darkens the rooms. Our first time trying a time share, and learned it's not for us!

Great staff. I was never hassled. Kitchen well stocked. Plenty of parking. Indoor outdoor pool. Beds and pillows as always with Marriott were wonderful. Sports bar, state store and shopping market were within walking distance. They also provide a free shuttle service to local Vail hotspots. Could not be more pleased

I had made reservations and unfortunately did not see the No Air Conditioning notice at the bottom of my reservation confirmation. Having no air would not have been a horrible problem because there are doors and windows that can be opened and Vail is not excessively hot during the summer, but the traffic noise with the windows open was terrible. When I complained at check out about the lack of air and the noise I was basically told they take care of the owners and they didn't have a problem with it and that it was on my confirmation so I should have read the entire confirmation. The property itself is beautiful. There is transportation to restaurants and shopping. The exercise room has great equipment. The rooms are spacious. Just don't expect to be treated as you would be if you were a guest of Marriott hotels. If you do stay here ask to be placed on the back side away from the traffic noise.

My daughter and I had a wedding to attend on top of Val Mountain on July 1st. Beautiful place for a wedding by the way! We stayed two weeks at Marriott Streamside. The first week was at Birch and the second at Douglas. The units were absolutely spotless and well furnished with everything we needed. The pull out couches were surprisingly comfortable and well supplied with bedding. The windows in each of the units opened to let in the clean fresh mountain air. The office staff was very helpful especially Brandon. We loved the shuttles that left on the hour to almost anywhere we wanted to go locally. There was a Safeway Food store 5 minutes away. The Streamside is very nicely situated and convenient to everything.

We spent 5 days at Marriott's Vacation Club in Vail. The location is great and the staff is helpful and courteous. The facility is showing it's age. We had a single bedroom unit on the second floor in Douglas. Our floor squeaked in many locations and we could hear every step the family upstairs took. Fortunately they went to bed about the same time we did. Two of the outdoor grills near our building were either out of order or worked poorly. The area is beautiful but the altitude is very hard to adjust to.

First of all, we loved the room. Yes, it faces the interstate but 50% or more of every hotel in Vail is close to the interstate so that's just something to expect. The fact that this is one of very few hotels in Vail that was grandfathered from the woodburning fireplace restriction is great...and they provide the firewood for free! So you can snuggle up to a fire in a well decorated and maintained room. The bed was great, the size of the deck was really nice - plenty of room to sit out there and relax. Parking could be kind of a pain, but for the time of year I was there I didn't have a problem. My biggest complaint is this - stupid me forgot my shave kit in the bathroom, I realized this when I checked in to my hotel in Denver that night and called to ask the front desk about options for getting it mailed to me. They said that nothing was found in the room. So that means that the housekeeping staff came across it while cleaning and took it for themselves (or at least they took the $70 bottle of cologne and tossed the rest). To me this is unacceptable. I know that the hotel can't completely control the honesty of their employees, but future guests should be aware of this and make certain to use the room safe for valuables and do a double sweep on check-out otherwise you'll lose whatever you left behind. I will absolutely stay here again, but I'll be more careful with my valuables next time as should you.

I liked the location just off I70 by the West Vail Exit. Good for our Vail snowmobile tour the next day. At $455 a night, it was pricey, but it was only one night. Two complaints: 1) The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The smallest of movements would wake up the other person in the bed. And we both woke up with sore backs in the morning. I spend as many nights in hotels as as I do at home and I can say that any crappy Hampton Inn or Marriott Courtyard bed is far superior to the bed we slept in at the Marriott's StreamSide Douglas at Vail property. 2) There were 2 bathrooms in the "villa" (fancy name for hotel room in this case). One had a strong smell of sewer gas that didn't go away, even after I ran water in all the faucets. Can't say I've ever stayed in a hotel like that before. The "villa" did have a couple of nice amenities that we did not take advantage of: a wood-burning fireplace and DVD player with movies to rent in the office. The covered parking was nice, as it snowed that night. There was no restaurant on the property for breakfast that I was aware of either.
