Overall, we did enjoy our stay at Budro’s Bungalow. The location felt safe, the cabin was fairly comfortable, and the porch offered a beautiful view. However, there were several issues. First, the listing misleadingly depicts a private fire pit. While I now see it’s not listed under amenities, the description says to “gather around the crackling fire pit with loved ones,” and the photos show one, but that fire pit isn’t at this cabin. It’s a shared pit down the hill, which we wouldn’t have booked had we known. When I reached out to the host, she admitted she had never been to the property and offered no real help. She said their website mentions it’s shared, but that doesn’t make the VRBO listing any less misleading.Next, cleanliness. The cabin seemed cleaner than some others we’ve rented, but with some glaring issues. The shower curtains had pink mold along the bottom, a basic thing that should be replaced or washed regularly. We were also excited for the bathtub, but when I went to clean it before using, I discovered black sludge inside the jets and black rot near the wall. Needless to say, we skipped it.Lastly, the bottom bedroom became infested with ladybugs during our last two nights. We understand it’s a cabin in the woods, but this went beyond a few stray bugs and during the last night they were flying into our faces. The main bedroom also had a strong urine smell. In summary, not the worst cabin we’ve booked, but unfortunately it’s not one we’ll come back to.
