You will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located home. Nestled in the picturesque town of Asotin WA. Recently remodeled cottage offers a well appointed living space for your travel needs. It is a very special location on the river. You have a birds eye view of the gorgeous Snake River, with the bike/walk path literally out the door and across the street. You have privacy with only one neighboring home. Expansive parking. Room to park your own boat.
The cottage sits on a very large lot, pasture on two sides, the entire front is VIEW. All new luxury vinyl flooring throughout. Large living-room space, includes two fold down couches for spare bedding. All new kitchen appliances in a spacious kitchen and dining area. Apartment size washer and dryer. Small but well appointed bedrooms. New bedding. New bathroom. Immaculately clean. The River Shanty is full of charm.You will have great space to enjoy.
The back of the house sits just under the ancient canyon shelf that shows the remnants of the first road through,from the horse and buggy days. The front of the cottage takes in the expanse of the Mighty Snake River and miles of paved bike/walking path that takes you into Clarkston and over the bridges to the Idaho side. You are nearby boat launch access and close where all river charters depart and return. A small beach is just across the street for you to enjoy. You are at the Gateway to Hells canyon, one of the worlds most amazing places. A jet boat trip up, is a lifetime experience. Asotin has one restaurant that features American and German food. Nearby Clarkston and Lewiston are host to many different restaurants. The small town of Asotin is a 5 minute walk away. Parking is free there. The town has two parks, one with playground equipment next to a stream, both minutes away from the River Shanty. The school is the hub of town. The courthouse and Post Office are seconds away. Clean, comfortable, well-stocked home in a lovely setting across a road from the Snake River. Host responsive and communicative. A really nice place. One minor issue, fortunately moot because weather was temperate, was figuring out how to work cooling system, even with detailed instructions. Confusing and not intuitive. Could be me, not being tech-savvy.

Our stay was wonderful. The location was great and the property was awesome. Janine was an exceptional Host. She was available to answer all our questions And made us feel very welcome. We would definitely stay at the River Shanty again.

Perfect stay for the Asotin and Clarkston area
The host communicated all procedures to us, was very informative. The River Shanty was perfect. Super clean and quiet.
Everyone mentioned how comfortable the beds were.
The kitchen provided everything we needed for our stay. We cooked in each night. Great new stove/oven in the recently remodeled kitchen.
Bathroom too had just been redone. Very clean and nice with great water pressure.
This will be the first place we check for availability when returning to this area.

House with a view
We had a great stay at the River Shanty. The house was spotless and comfortable. We visited family and had a quiet respite to rest. Jeanine was very accomodating when our daughter decided to join the party. Kitchen looked well equiped and we slept well in the quiet back bedrooms.

Working getaway
In from Portland OR for work, Janine the host was very easy to work with and very attentive to any issues that came up. The property is as described and the river views at sunrise/sunset are amazing. The goats are cool too!

Great place to stay!
Bring your own toothbrush, leave the rest to these guys. The location is terrific, private, right on the river, we saw lots of local wildlife, the place was immaculate when we checked in. Plenty of towels, bedding, kitchen was well-stocked. Super relaxing, individual temperature control in all rooms, we will be staying here again anytime we go to the LC Valley when available. The ad under-promises, and the shanty over-delivers. And the best of all, the owners are quick to answer any questions, excellent communication, terrific people!

Awesome vacation spot
We had a great time on vacation, staying here! The property was very clean and cozy inside. You can view the river from the front and you can sit and relax in the back with a great view. The owners were very accommodating and always asked us if there was anything they could get us. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in town.
