Super 8 Taos2.0 out of 5.0

We got a good deal at $55, so for that price we were satisfied. Supposedly this place was refurbished, but it is hard to see. When we arrived our reservation had been cancelled, but the front desk managed to fix this. She wasn't very bright and everything took a long time. Then we got a room that hadn't been cleaned yet. The replacement room we got was very tight (one of the center rooms, partially taken up by a maids closet). The TV remote did not work and they never managed to get me a working one that same day. How hard would ti have been to get me one form one of the unoccupied rooms). Breakfast, like pretty much every other hotel is slop. So, if you get a good deal on the price this place is fine, otherwise find something else
Management friendly, room clean, breakfast good-limited items- near Los Rios River Runners. Only problem I had was a guest pounding on her door trying to get her son to let her in at 12:30am.
We checked in very late and were treating with a smile. The room was quiet, comfortable, clean. The bathroom needs some repair but not horrible. We are a family of six and just needed a place to overnight on our way home, nothing plush but certainly comfortable.
Beds were comfortable, room was clean...very nice staff. Very quiet...Perfect for exploring Taos! Close to downtown Taos...Great price for the room... would suggest more fruit and yogurt for breakfast!
Convenient and affordable. Most rooms have been recently remodeled and include a microwave and refrigerator. Interesting walks and drives to the east, up onto the hills surrounding Taos: marvelous local architecture and stunning views! Really wishing for protein on the breakfast bar--no eggs, didn't replenish the yogurt. Waffles, cereal and bananas had to suffice.
What can I say...it's a Super 8, so well priced. Room large, beds ok, pillows not great. Staff friendly. Breakfast ok ( I'm not a breakfast person, so was fine for me). Location is a bit out of town, so car is needed. Free parking....easy to get into town as it is on main road in/out!
Very good service from the front desk. We needed a power strip and they brought it immediately. We needed a couple of other items and they responded right away. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast area was small and the food was standard Super 8.
This was a very pleasant trip for us because the Super 8 was clean, updated & the manager, Melanie went out of her way to be helpful & accomadate all our needs, questions & plans. She took the time to give us a map of Taos, NM & highlight all the local sites as well as some a little farther away. We will definetly return to this Super 8. The continental breakfast was more than adequate & Melanie kept the food well stocked & fresh & was so helpful to not only us but every guest she encountered.
Late check-in check-out was OK. breakfast included. value for money. located on main street. Interiors clean and amenities are good. staff is friendly. free internet. one of the budget hotels in the area.
A decent place to stay if you're exploring the area. Not outstanding or a luxury hotel, but, meets your needs if all you're doing is wanting a safe place to spend the night and a quick breakfast in the morning. They are trying to remodel. It's a so so job, but, it was clean and the staff were friendly. A bit loud in the morning with the front desk clerk yelling down the hall to the cleaning staff, running the vacuum while people are eating breakfast, working out the schedule. Breakfast is hot/cold cereal, juice, bread for toast, yogurt, minimal selection of fruit, a pastry, and waffles if you want to stand in line and hope they don't run out of batter like they did the first morning we were there. Brochures of things to do in the area and maps of the town available. Please realize Taos is an eclectic tourist town. Lots of art--jewelry, paintings, pottery, sculpture, etc. There is an old Town square. A bit dirty(maybe because it was March and the season is slowing a bit and it still snows so there was sand everywhere), sidewalks a bit rough and uneven. Be choosy about where you eat. We tried the 316 restaurant on the main road. It was decent, but, can't say it was outstanding. My son did say his fish tacos were excellent. My husband and I had the mushroom burgers. Large and juicy, but, can't say they were seasoned very well. We also tried the Grill on the Square. It' s on the corner and on the upper floor. (Can't recall the real name) The food was excellent the night we were there. I tried the salmon pasta--tasty. It's a bar/dining area. It does have a balcony and some nice views. They had the doors to it open to let the outdoor in even in March. Mixture of a crowd and fun atmosphere if you want to watch sports over in one corner of the restaurant. It's large though so you can sit farther from the business. Our waiter was so so as far as attentiveness, but, once flagged down, delivered. We would eat there again.
