The property is in need of repair and updating. Carpets are old, dirty, and smelly. Doors and woodwork are dark and very damaged. Bathroom was okay but very small and had thin towels and washcloths. The breakfast attendant was wonderful . Very friendly and helpful. When we checked out we paid some with cash and some by card. The front desk agent actually asked my partner what the limit was on the credit card! NEVER have I been so appalled! I was employed at a Marriott resort property at the front desk and would never have even considered asking such a question. He told her that he didn't think that was anyone's business. He advised the manager of the conversation and he did not seem too concerned. This is a franchise property but they still should have to live up to Marriott standards and they definitely don't. The only good at this property was the location and the breakfast attendant. I would never stay there again and definitely do not recommend this property.
Very clean, nice and quite while sleeping the bed is very soft, first hotel that I have ever been to that I was able to sleep all night, everyone was very nice when we were there. Breakfast was very nice, they made sure there was plenty of food for everyone.
Pros - Location, location, location - down the road from USF and USF Hospitals (Moffitt, VA, Shriners, Florida). - about 10 minutes from Busch Gardens, MOSI, mall, movies, restaurants - about 15 minutes from BJs, Costco, Sam's and major outlet center - Friendly and helpful staff - Free WiFi - Flat screen TVs in each room with HBO, Netflix, and Hulu. You need to bring your own signon's for Netflix and Hulu. - Full, but small kitchen. Fridge and oven are about 2/3 normal size. - The hotel has numerous tie-ins to Moffitt. There is a courtesy shuttle which runs to Moffitt. There is also a discount available. Check at Moffitt and/or the front desk. Cons - Room decor is uneven. Some rooms are very dark and rustic. Others are much better. - bed is full; not king/queen - furnishings are cheap. Closet doors in particular seem to be always in need of repair no matter what room you are in. Others - free minimal breakfast - toast, muffins, things for an Egg McMuffin. If you don't like it make breakfast in your room. - Hotel is very hard to find and there is no signage. It is adjacent to the Marriott Renaisance. Use GPS to find it.
We stayed at Townplace Suites Tampa North to spend a few days at Busch Gardens. The proximity to the park was great! |The grounds were nice and the gym offered the basics but could use some updating. We didn't use the pool since we were so busy but it looks nice. We enjoyed our interactions with the hotels team. The desk team always had a quick answer about the local area and they quickly tended to any of our needs. I want to point out one person who offered excellent service. There was a lady who handled the morning breakfast spread named Lindce. She was always on top of making sure everything was well stocked and boy did she have her job cut out for her at times. You see, we visited on the Thanksgiving weekend. At times there were 20+ people in an area which seems like it was made for 10 people max. Lindce handled it all like a champ. She was always buzzing from kitchen to counter and at the same time she still stopped and chatted with the guests. At one point the forks had run out due to the amount of people who had rushed through. I notified her about this and went to sit down and wait for her to refill them. Well, doesn't she come walking over to my table with a bin full of forks! She didn't have to come over to me but she did. I appreciated this very much. It is a great example of how she does her job. Her and the rest of the staff are all a good bunch. I'd recommend this place any time!
I travel to Tampa a couple times a month and when I do I stay at this TownePlace Suites. Superior management and friendly staff takes the edge off of the challenges of business travel. They will go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience.
The front desk folks, Candice, Justin, and the others are cheerful, helpful, and a pleasure to see everyday of the 1 1/2 months I have been here. Many thanks to Faten who takes care of my room each day. She does a better job than I would have imagined and she is always a pleasure to talk with. Faten works hard, is always ready to help, and any time I ask for something or for help, she always takes care of it. She also sprays my room down with air freshener after she is finished. That's a nice touch. Many thanks also to Roslyn who puts together breakfast for us everyday. She is a pleasure to talk with and a nice lady. I hurt my ankle a few days ago and many folks ask how I'm doing and if they can help. I have stayed at many hotels around the world and in the US, sometimes for lengthy periods and the Towneplace has sold me. I decided 1 1/2 months ago I will stay at one if there is one in the town I am in. Once I found it 3 hotels ago, I have not switched. Thanks for such a great experience everyone and thank you Faten for all you do! I sincerely appreciate it.
Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay for temporary, even with kitchen ready for cooking or drinking coffee! No cutting internet services to all devices. Amazing landscape for a stroll to enjoy with kids. Kids enjoyed swimming there. And, friendly staff service, especially Linda during breakfast hours in mornings! Linda also showed her concerns of our well-being during the hurricane Irma. So overall, it is a best feeling for us to stay there. :)
I stayed at this location 2 weeks ago with my husband and twin children. We were there to go to Busch Gardens to celebrate their 13th birthday. The hotel and room were comfortable and clean!!! Linda the breakfast buffet attendant was one of the friendliest people I have met when travelling. She was awesome!
We needed to commute to Tampa for a medical consult, and found TownePlace I-75, to be conveniently near I75, close to the University, and the room and services met our needs for a short stay. We booked a studio suite, and had a open kitchen, queen size bed, desk and work light and great internet, plus a sofa. I've had 3x back fusions, so the bed matters, and the bed was fine. The buffet breakfast was available but we choose to go to Starbucks which was only 1+ miles away. If staying longer, I may choose another location, as there were minimal retail nearby, but we were pleased with the accommodations.
I stayed in a studio suite and it was beyond what I expected. The hotel was booked and I was hoping for a larger room, but this studio exceeded the space I was looking for. The staff was great, but Linda stood out the most for me during my morning stops for breakfast. She made sure I had any and everything that I needed. I came in late and she made sure I got something before packing up and while she packed up and listened to my concern about my upcoming appointment. She is a great addition to the staff and can't wait to see her again.
