Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Tampa North - Busch Gardens Area

Recent guest reviews

Actually more like a MOTEL inside in terms of the room size (really smaller rooms) and in term of an open design where every room has a window to the courtyard. The shades must always be closed or people walking by your room can look right in.

Looks like the reviews ratings have dropped since I booked our room. When I booked the rating was at 4 stars, if I remember correctly. Let me first start out with praise for the hotel staff. Everyone was very friendly and polite. Eager to assist and make your stay enjoyable. The beds were very firm, which I like but my wife does not. My problem was not with the hotel itself. It was with the area in which the hotel is located. The area around the hotel looked dilapidated. Junkies not more than half a block away. If you are looking to go to the beach do not stay here as the nearest beach is at least 30 mins away and it's not a beach for swimming.

I was very impressed with the room and plan on coming back.

Great place. Very courteous and friendly staff. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was reasonably priced. Food quality was good

stay was too short, will plan on staying longer. very comfortable and close to everything.great value for the price

We arrived and found that the room had two small rooms. The bathroom was very tight -- the sink was outside. Their was very little room around the beds. When we went for breakfast we told them that we needed to be out in 30 min. They said no problem but in 30 min. our breakfast had still not arrived. We left, without having eaten.

Old motel surrounded by new and up to date motels, but is clean and private

This hotel is very near Busch Gardens, malls, restauants, etc. Very clean , nice courtyard and pool area. The staff is very friendly. There is a Village Inn on one side and a great Deli on the other (short walk). I have stayed here before and will stay again when in the area. They have a cafe at the hotel which is open all day. Rooms are large with separate bedroom and living area.

Older hotel but ok for it's age. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Coffee shop needs help.

My wife and I have now stayed at the Holiday Inn & Suites twice. What we love most about this hotel is the friendly staff, From the front desk, where Linda and Audrey always greeted us with a smile and friendly words. To the Cabana bar where Alice and Willie were a pleasure to converse with and much of the time share laughs. The Housekeeping staff were timely and highly efficient. The over all feeling we enjoy there is obviously the friendly staff, but the atmosphere within the walls of this establishment greets you once you pass through the front desk area to the outside terrace walk ways that take customers to the three levels where they might be staying. The many tropical plants that abound within and that surrond the pool are pleasing and bring a sense of peace. My wife and I plan on returning and feel like the staff are part of our family.

Considering they are in the process of renovating, we both admitted the hotel was nice. I am sure when they are done it will be better.

But don't eat at the Courtyard Cafe - poor quality and the service stinks. The room was great. The ambiance was also nice. There are lots of good restaurants nearby as well as attractions. The staff is very knowledgeable and did a great job of answering questions, handling minor problems and recommending good places to eat and shop.

The staff was helpful, the room was clean and it was a good place to crash for the night.

Room met our needs. Loved the space of the suite. View was not as desirable. Trash should have been picked up outside in the back.

Rooms were very clean. Front desk staff was very friendly and very helpful. Only one minor problem was the maid showed up to clean our room and did not speak any english. You try to tell someone to come back in a half hour that did not understand a word of english. Only a minor problem, I would stay there again and recommend to anyone.

Nice hotel. The room was clean. The televisions were outdated and we had problems getting ours to work. The bar was only open for a few hours in the evening. Located very close to Busch Gardens and places to eat.

The beds in most motels/hotels are too hard for my liking. This bed was not that bad. Breakfast was a little expensive.

We checked in and were pleased with the size of the room, the checking in was smooth and the clerk was very welcoming; everyone that work there was great to deal with. It's not a huge hotel with flat screen but was a perfect place to stay with a quick shuttle to Busch Gardens. We were able to walk to several restaurants and a 24 hour CVS. We also had delivery from a local pizza place so plenty of ways to get food even though we didn't rent a car. Check out was also easy. Maid service was daily, pool was clean and the kids enjoyed swimming even though it was chilly for the rest of us :)

perfect location for our needs, the only concern was that the bathroom was located in the bedroom suite and it made it inconvenient when guests that were sleeeping on the pull out sofa had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Other than that,we were very comfortable

My wife and I came for a night and we were blown away at the area. It was nice the way the courtyard is set up and the rooms were great. You could tell the hotel is older, but they have done some updating to them as well.
