The Bayswater Sydney

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The room is small, but comfortable. Close to the train, city buses, and HOP on hop off bus route, red line. It is close to many restaurants, grocery store, and all kinds of shopping. I found it very convenient in local to points of interest.

Loved this hotel. Was so comfortable, clean. Great location near transit...only down side is some very loud bars/clubs across the street.

Room was clean, towels super soft and white. The key for me was location location location - close to the pulse of the Cross strip, railway station, mini marts and food options were abundant

The Bayswater Sydney worked very nicely for our visit to Sydney. We enjoyed the bakery across the street and the closeness to the Kings Cross Rail station. It made our frequent trips to the Circular Quay very convenient.

Hotel was clean but the area was disturbing,a little scary at night.

The Bayswater is a great location, especially for young travelers. Walking distance to nice neighborhoods, restaurants, nightlife, and more. The rooms are tiny, but the price is good and you'll hopefully spend most of your time away from the room anyway! Nothing fancy, but not a dive. A great value, good hotel.

Friendly and attentive staff, nice room for the price, and good location at North Sydney near train station. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. A bit seedy at night (red light district), so we weren't out past 9pm. We bar hopped 1 night and stayed out till midnight. The last bar was 1 block from hotel, perfectly fine & safe. Fridays & Saturdays may be the seedy nights.

Location is close to train and bus stations but area is next to strip joints and street walkers. Not suitable for families. The room and facilities are recently updated and overall cleanliness is a high point. Good value nonetheless.

Not walking distance to downtown but excellent transportation: buses stop in front of hotel & metro stop King Cross was a block away. King Cross is advertised as the "red light" part of city, although hotel was located on quiet side street.

Friendly staff, good value however far from a 4 star hotel from almost all aspects. 3 star may be even over- rating. Very small hotel with no ramp at the entrance. Had to carry all my lagguages by myself to the check-in lobby. With lots of lagguages and a baby, it was not a pleasant welcome for us.

Stayed there with my wife for a couple nights while in transit through Sydney. The rooms are small, but clean and perfectly nice and the staff is very friendly. The location is perfect if you want to walk around and explore the city. King's cross is a funky neighbourhood with lots of food and bars. Downtown shopping and most of the major tourist attractions are within walking distance if you are relatively fit or just a short cab drive away. It would be nice if they had free internet in the rooms, but there are a couple desktops in the lobby which are free to use. I would certainly stay there again... A good value for the money.
