This place is close to Notre Dame and is at a convenient location near Walmart. Our family booked 3 rooms over the graduation weekend. I arrived a day later than my other family members. When I tried to check in after dinner at around 7pm, they said the hotel is full and there is no room for me and told me to go to another location (Extended Stay America South Bend South) and refused to do anything to accommodate me even I have other family members staying there already. I booked though hotels.com and before the trip I called hotels.com to ask them to call Extended Stay America to confirm all my booking. Hotels.com told me they called the hotel directly and my booking was confirmed. Right after Extended Stay America refused to honor my confirmed booking, I went online and saw they were still accepting reservation for that night. If the hotel was full/over booked already, why were they still accepting on-line booking on the exact same night. It seems to me a bait-and-switch tactic to get people booked this hotel and the switch them to a low-rating (Trip Advisor User Review rating) location. From hanging out in the other 2 rooms my family has checked in, I could tell this hotel is in general ok, but it is quite dated. They did try to put on new paint to make it look new, but when you pay attention to the detail, you can tell furniture, appliances, bathroom, light switches, iron, etc are past their prime. I would not come back to this hotel again as I am not fond of the way this hotel manages their "confirmed" reservation.
We stayed two nights and appreciated the kitchenette with microwave, full size fridge and dishes/cutlery. There is an Aldi nearby where you can get some groceries. We ate the simple grab-and-go breakfast, but if you stay longer, you'd want to get your own breakfast options!
You pay a very high price and you get very little. Very hard to work the kitchen/dishes/flatware system. The rooms are minimal, and have no amenities. If you have towels you are lucky. There are many good hotels and extended stay locations in the area, try those first.
stayed in 2 different rooms over 2 weeks. First room lights did not work, and dirty bathroom. 2nd week different room. Nasty odor under sink, cant' ever get my needed receipts for work. Front desk staff was very rude.
The Extended Stay America in Mishawaka, IN was not on my list of places to stay but Hotels.com and TripAdvisor had a great rate, so we stopped on our trip. Even though it is a longer stay hotel, it was very convenient and economical for a one night stay. It was nice to have a small kitchen and comfortable chair. The bed and other furnishings were fine. The only thing is that we had to get a hair dryer from the front desk (not regularly in the room). They also had a nice breakfast. Try Extended Stay even when you are passing through.
The staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Full size fridge. The stove is useless because the smoke detector is very sensitive. If you get a room on the west side the car dealership next door keeps all their lights on all night.
Stayed for a night. Reserved with short notice with no problems. Room was clean facilities were ok. No issues with the staff. Recommend it for anyone staying in the area. Probably one of the nicer extended stay hotels ive stayed at.
Stayed here 3 nights at $69/night for the miami - notre dame game and the hotel was excellent for the price i paid. clean, comfortable & basic. Good water pressure from the shower, flat screen tv had enough channels & property was nice overall. Wifi was slow but free so cannot complain too much. Yes doesnt have workout room and breakfast consists of pre wrapped granola bars and coffee but remember this property is a value / budget property. Hotel does not have a computer to use / print stuff out but right down the street I used the courtyard marriott's business facilities.
I loved staying here. They made me feel so welcome and gave me extra coffee or supplies I needed. Hoping to stay in the same room next time aswell ☺ kitchen was clean and very well equipped also the bathroom. Air conditioning was a god send!
I have been traveling to Indiana every year for 14 years & usually go to Marriott or Varsity Clubs for AYOP. This was my first time at this Extended Stay it is was quiet, because there were no twirling teams here, parking was front row and easy to get in and out, and the price was half the cost of all the other hotels I stayed at! It was clean and they have washers and dryers and a full kitchen! Loved it!
