Great location and great property. The local property manager, who is not onsite, was accommodating to our late arrival by leaving the card key at the desk of Allegheny Springs, which is managed by the Snowshoe resort. Unfortunately, after a day of awesome skiing, we returned to our room around 6pm to discover no hot water. Unfortunately the rental property manager’s office was closed for the evening. We contacted the resort and were informed that the boiler in the building had failed, and they were relocating guests to a different property, and we were to return to the Allegheny Spring front desk to be reassigned. Unfortunately we were then informed that because we had rented this property not through the resort, they were unable to accommodate us, and the only person who could assist us was the property manager. We attempted repeatedly to contact the property manager using the emergency phone number, leaving several messages. Unfortunately we never heard back. The following day, we had still not heard back. Fortunately the resort eventually repaired the boiler, restoring hot water the second day of our stay. As of this moment we have still not heard back from the property manager. This experience has changed my opinion on renting properties at snowshoe resort through a third-party. In situations like this the resort is not responsible for accommodating you as a guest if you did not rent the property through them. Moving forward I do not believe the risk is worth the savings, and will not be renting resort properties at snowshoe via Vrbo or other third parties again.
