The Remington Suite Hotel and Spa

3.5 out of 5.0

Excellent location. Walking distance to Aquarium and several eating spots. Friendly and helpful staff. Loved our room. Valet parking in that area is very helpful.

clean and friendly Room was very spacious, and staff walked us around..

Tries really hard to be a boutique hotel/spa, but it doesn't work. The staff are nice enough, the rooms are ok, but they're just weird. Instead of a window you can see out of, my room's window had an etched-glass image of an artist painting a scene (I think that's what it was), since I was in the "[famous artist] Suite." Not sure why they've named their rooms after famous artists, but whatever it is they're trying to do, the whole aesthetic feels confused and thrown together (eg, what do famous painters have to do with spas?). And while I'm not against uncarpeted rooms in hotels, my room had ceramic wood tile instead of real wood, which, ok, whatever, but the overall effect wasn't what I imagine they want it to be, it just seemed cheap. The building itself also has the feeling of being unfinished, it feels like contractors have been there recently and left the job unfinished. It seems they think that all of this justifies the high rates they normally charge compared to other local hotels, but I certainly don't think so. I also found that I'd been charged $22/day on top of my room rate for using their valet service, which I must've missed in the small print, so shame on me I guess, but when I saw that I really felt like I'd been hustled, especially since overall I probably gave around $25-30 in tips to the valets. TL;DR -- they're trying way too hard to be several different things at once, and succeeding at none of them. Especially not for what they charge.

Good size suites. Very friendly staff. Prompt valet. However, stay was ruined by an incredibly noisy event that didn't end until 11pm (well-past the bedtime of my two small children). The event had a DJ whose speakers rattled the ENTIRE BUILDING. Song after song after song. Relentlessly for 4 hours. The kids and I couldn't even watch our movies and eat our popcorn in peace. I expressed my concerns to the staff. The event was on the 3rd floor, directly above our suite. To the credit of the staff, they relocated us to the penthouse on the 5th floor. This solved the problem of the stomping above us, but there was no change the volume of the music, which I think is ridiculous. What magnified all this was that we had to drive back to Dallas at 4am, so the kids and I only got about 4 real hours of sleep, which made me very anxious because it was dark and rainy on the way back, in addition to my sleep-deprivation (caused by the incredibly loud event that no one mentioned to me beforehand).

Loved the hotel. It was a wonderful a hotel to stay at, the furniture was absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. Made us feel right at home. We'll definitely be back and will recommend this hotel to others.

The rooms are large, very clean and have any and every amenity desired. We WILL make The Remington our hotel of choice every time we visit Shreveport.

Great boutique hotel. Super friendly staff. I've stayed a few times and every room is different. Some are more updated than others but all have comfortable beds.

Awesome stay. Beautiful hotel and staff was great except for the waitress that served breakfast. She was slow, not friendly or helpful and our order was wrong. Other than the negative experience with her, everything was wonderful!

Me and my wife had an amazing experience at The Remington Suites! The staff is very friendly and the room was excellent!!! Will definitely be back!

Wonderful staff and rooms. A great stay for a weekend wedding.
