The bed was fantastic. The table and chairs were not usable - it had coffee table height rather than dining height with chairs designed for a dining table.

The rooms are shoddy for the price of the stay.

My kids and I had a great time at the pool. Appreciate the staff and the pool towels and friendly vibe.

We were disappointed that the pool bar was not open despite the fact that the hotel was full. It would have been nice to have a drink out there in the evening. The room was clean, but the blinds did not darken the room enough to permit deep sleep, and the bare bones furniture, two metal cafeteria chairs and a very low coffee table, were not comfortable. We do appreciate the hotel’s policy on only laundering towels when requested. It makes good sense environmentally and economically.

We had a very nice stay, it’s a nice family environment and I appreciate that they welcome pets.

No complain at all. Just for housekeeping to replenish the liquid washes in the bathroom when guests check out. I stopped asking because no one comes. Otherwise its a cool place

Nothing to report at this time. Cool as usual

Great place. Clean and quiet. Dog area was easily accessible and clean.

This was a great little weekend getaway for us to get together with grandpa and kids. We just came to hang out by the pool and check out local Santa Rosa restaurants (which you have to drive to from the property). Alexa's hospitality/customer service was memorable as was the pool bartenders (but we didn't get his name). I especially liked having the pool bar on site and we were close to several things like In and Out/Chick-Fil-A for easy food for our kids and there is tons of shopping around if that is your thing - we just happened to need a pair of kiddo shoes when our son lost his at the bay. We did a short day trip to Bodega Bay from here. Overall, we just wanted to relax by the pool and get a little sun during this long winter. We will definitely be back.

Great value with lots of enjoyable amenities. We loved the pool and hot tub, fire pit and games, and free breakfast.

Good ambiance, close to my job, stress free check in. Very clean. Dislikes: My first 4 nights stay, called front desk and never received body wash in my bathroom. Second stay, noticed spiders and other insects. Would be nice to treat the building surroundings as season change. Also saw cobwebs in my room.

For the age of the property it was clean and well-equipped. Comfortable bed & pillows!

Pool

There is no desk in the rooms where one can sit and work on a computer. There is a low table with a beach-type chair (you lean way back), so I got to work with my knees up and hands at about the level as my knees. The coffee in the room is not only lousy coffee, but the packages are impossible to open without a knife or something sharp. The bathroom is tiny. There is barely room to close the door while standing up. Plus, the shower is in the same room. Which means that it's not possible for one person to use the toilet while another uses the shower, since they would be almost touching. The shower itself was nice, but the room is ridiculously small. There were reading lights next to the bed, which was nice. Other that the problems I mentioned above, everything was fine/nice. Room was clean, bed was fine, housekeeping service was good.

Parking was convenient, the bed was clean and comfortable, and the towels were clean. However, the room needed to be refurbished. The tub had a slow drain problem. I will not return.

I don't often write bad reviews but I feel I should weigh in here. There were not many rooms in towm to choose from because nearby wildfires had displaced so many people. This property was not like the pictures and it is important to note that, like others reported, the carpet in our room was very dirty. This made me feel uneasy about the entire room although our beds seemed clean and nothing else was terrible. I felt I had to inspect everything because I had put my family in the situation we were in. There were people wandering the parking lot and coming to and from what seemed to be a nearby liquor store. Our door was (in old motel style) just feet from said parking lot. To the credit of management, there was a security guard right outside our door (by chance). It is entirely possible that the good people at the Sandman hotel are really trying to do a good job but there is just no excuse for filthy carpet. I could make other criticisms but don't want to be overly critical or unkind. To sum up, I really wished I had chosen the Quality Inn (which I passed up) over the Sandman because they probably at least have higher (corporate) standards. By the way, housekeeping also came early even though we were staying only one night and it was nowhere near checkout. To sum up, by my standards, this place would only do in a serious pinch.

Thanks Violet for your review. Sorry your dispensers were empty. I don't know why they did not come after being requested to do so.
