Welcome to The Buttercup! The Wildflower House & Guest Cottages in San Marcos has four cottages for rent that are close to local attractions including the San Marcos square, Texas State University, and the San Marcos river.

★”Quiet and private spot within walking distance to restaurants and shops on the downtown square. It had everything we needed.”★ The Buttercup Cottage is located in central San Marcos on 1 acre just steps away from the square. The cottage is located on the second floor and has a private entrance next to the screened natatorium. It has a kitchen, bathroom, and its own washing machine and clothes dryer. There is a private balcony located off of the bedroom. All amenities are within 15 minute walk: grocery store, shops, and restaurants. Although located within downtown, the property is on a secluded 1 acre lot.
The cottage includes access to the pool and hot tub. The pool and hot tub is located in a shared space, a screened-in building. The pool is not heated but guests are able to heat the hot tub during pool hours.
The pool and hot tub area is a shared space, accessed by all guests staying on the property. Guests are not permitted to invite other people (outside of the reservation) into the pool area.
The apartment is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 2.5 bathrooms, and a balcony. There's space to spread out with a separate bedroom and a dining area. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a coffee maker, and an ironing board.

Butter Cup

Nice place. A little short on some kitchen essentials, we made do with going to a thrift store, took most of with us just left a couple things that we have enough of at home. San Marcos is a great college town with plenty of bars and restaurants. The place is within walking distance of downtown
