This hotel is awful. I’ve been here 30 minutes and already I can see the hotel last night that I paid 400 pesos for is sadly far superior. There were around 5 groups waiting to check in with one person registering guests and another employee who I assume is the manager just staying there waiting chino. It was so silly I just left my bags and went next to eat a meal. There was no water in the room as a courtesy (except the on bottle they conveniently leave that they charge for). Now normally it would be a minor oversight but considering their ridiculous rates here you would think they would be more detail oriented. Also I requested water to my room 20 minutes ago and am still waiting. Finally what really irked me was the jacuzzi that I was looking forward to all day is ice cold with jets that are useless. This place sucks. Save literally hundreds of pesos and go somewhere else in town and get significantly more for your money . The only saving grace is that I reserved this place on points. But $100 a night in SLP for this dump? What a joke. Aléjate de acá! Es el peor Marriott que existe!
The hotel it's located near by of the downtown San Luis Potosí, the good; the bed and the pillows excellent after a long days, my wife love the pillows an I love the bed, good service from the front desk clerks, drivers; Jaime and Frank, housekeeper Abigail, really great service with smile, the bad one night I call for room service at 10:45pm and they told me that "they closed" means no body in the kitchen to prep a dinner, the shuttle service it's only to the airport and zona industrial, not to the mall. so make Sure to use uber to go around, the green taxis they are every where but they are not good cars to ride. They are old, An the last thing if you rent a car or you have visits to the hotel by car be prepare to go every time to the front desk for parking validation 10 pesos for use a spot in the hotel it's cheap but very inconvenient. This hotel it's OK option.
For a $100.00 dollars in Mexico, the Hotel room is pretty shabby. The bed was old and uncomfortable. When we were getting ready in the morning, there was not even a hair dryer in the room. When I mentioned that to the person at the desk, all he said was we will look into it. There's got be better places in San Luis Potosi.
This is a hotel that has been up dated recently and looks great. The shower is about the only complaint but it is hard to get a good shower head these days. the in house restaurant is good and the rest of the facilities are updated and nice.
This is the second time I have had the pleasure of staying at the Courtyard San Luis Potosi. Fist off I have to say the staff is very friendly and helpful, from the front desk down to the maintenance staff. The rooms are comfortable and clean and are made up to a tee everyday. The housekeeper arranges pillows and folds towels differently everyday, which is a nice touch. It's almost like being on a cruise ship and I am waiting for my towel animal some night. The rooms have a small fridge and a microwave, there is also a coffee maker, however down in the bar area in the mornings there is a coffee urn that you can grab a cup of joe on the run. The location is good with a HEB 200 m down the street, a Wallymart across the street and a little further down a shopping mall. Some restaurants close by, with a good steak house right next door. There is a restaurant in the hotel as well as a bar area that serves snacks. Felt safe wandering around during the day. I am still exploring the area and will update anything I find on another review. The Marriott has an exercise room, an indoor pool with hot tub. There is an outdoor patio, half covered and the other half with loungers for sun lovers. It is nice and quiet little area to get away and relax. The only negative thing I would have to mention is the breakfast. There is a good selection and the service is great, but not just not a typical Marriott breakfast. A lot of people are there in the morning enjoying it, but I will save my $210 MX and grab something from the grocery store to have in the morning. Overall, great hotel, nice location and if I have to come back to San Luis Potosi I would stay here.
Nice hotel, no complaints, service is good. It is a little more expensive then some of the other hotels we stay at. Breakfast is good. Several other hotels and restaurants nearby. I typically stay at other hotels as this is nothing special for me.
in town for work. this was the place recommended by co-workers. this is a nice hotel. the room was clean and quiet. I didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel, but it was very good. the staff was very nice. I will stay here again. the steakhouse next door had great steaks too!
I spent 2 weeks in this hotel and had issues almost daily. I speak passable Portuguese, so I assumed it wouldn't be too difficult to ask for simple things. WRONG. The staff either was not listening or not caring. 3 times I ordered food to my room and it was never ordered. They lost my laundry, my room keys failed every other day. They have only 2 ice machines (1st and 6th floors) which means you have to take the service elevator to that floor, leading to awkward interactions with staff. Ice machines had no scoop. Room smelled and has no way to bring fresh air in (windows locked shut and no fan in the bathroom). Restaurant and bar closed all day Sunday because, "there's no one here" (hello!? I'm here). Food from the restaurant was microwaved/pre-made. As someone that travels 3-4 months out of the year, I was really disappointed. Good points include good internet and the breakfast buffet had fresh fruit.
I choose Courtyard, because it is known standard for me. Everything was as expected, room and sleep quality, breakfast.. everything fine without problems. From hotel you are in short time in city center by taxi or walk too, if you want to buy something, it is no problem to go few hundred of meters to Walmart or shopping centre. Sometimes during night little bit noisy, but maybe only wrong people stayed there at the same time. If you`re looking for business hotel, I can recommended without exceptions.
When my contract called for staying at the Courtyard, I thought it would have the Marriott trademark amenities and service. Not! For starters, within 15 minutes of checking in, I go for ice, which is located only on floors 1 & 6. So, I take the stairs as the elevators only take you to your key-specific floor. OK, so the staircase doors allow you -- as in the Hotel California song: "you can check out anytime you like; but you can never leave". I couldn't get back to any other hallway, ANYWHERE! So, had to call the front desk, luckily I had my cell. I was told the staircase doors only let you out, never back in. Really... what about an emergency? The west facing rooms are hot in the afternoon as the sun beats mercilessly. The paid parking every time you leave, only MXN10$, but, c'mon! The kicker was the only evening my party had dinner at the property. Unfortunately, I was facing to the food prep area and discovered that everything is heated in the microwave; my fajitas were beautifully presented, but terribly cold: the rice, beans and meat. A Marriott visibly microwaving everything? Again, very disappointing. Not the best location in town, but convenient only to the industrial area. Limited cable TV offerings and no option for switching to SAP on the audio for NFL games. Not what I've come to expect from Marriott.
