Great location and the room and bathroom were very clean. Definitely would stay her again
Location is the only merit of this hotel. Service, cleanness, facility are all below average.
just what I needed. Clean room not too small. Flat screen TV coffee, machine
it was a clean space and close to everything we wanted to be near
While a late booking made me choose something other than my standard Hilton and Marriott this place didn't seem bad in pictures and description but once there I was very disappointed. Old elevator wasn't working either morning I was there. No hot water either morning, luke warm at best. No air conditioner even though ad says there was. Just not happy.
A good location, very pleasant and helpful staff, and extra special for claustrophobic people as all floors walkable. Total floors are four. Special hint: take Super Shuttle or similar from SFO if you have luggage. SFO direct to hotel. A few minutes longer than BART except rush hours and a lot easier on the back, etc.
It's not The Tenderloin or Nob Hill it's the "Tender Nob." The cafe across the street was an essential extension to this hotel. My bay window had a huge wooden cabinet holding a petite flatscreen tv blocking the view. My suggestion is to ditch the cabinet and mount the TV on the wall across from the bed. Anyway, reasonably priced, quiet and a very connected. I'll likely return.
Mithila had always been my "Plan B" hotel whenever the expensive SF hotels were too pricey. But my complaint was that while it was in a great location, it was a little too run-down. Then they "remodeled" it. Now it's close to the perfect budget hotel in SF. Here's why: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. It's in a great area with quaint restaurants and cafes nearby, and a short walk to Cable Cars/Union Square/Market Street/Van-Ness/Financial District. Also, it's far from intersections so there's little to no street noise--that's a huge plus in SF. There's even a nice grocery store a few doors down where you can stock up and make use of the in-room fridge and microwave. The rooms are modest but very clean and well appointed--good TV and internet too (but only a few channels--so if you go to SF to watch TV, that might be important to you :-) ). Bathroom was impeccably clean and maid service excellent. Only complaint is that the walls are thin and you can definitely hear the neighbors. Thankfully a good set of earplugs took care of that and I slept like a baby. Oh, yeah, street parking is it. So, if you have a car, you might spend a few minutes looking for space--I found one two blocks away within few minutes (Read the signs!! They tow on street-cleaning days).
The hotel is in a very convenient location. The staff was friendly. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel has everything you need. Great experience!
The hotel was very quiet, the staff were friendly and helpful, very reasonable cost, and close to all transportation and lots of good eats close by.
The hotel is in a pretty good location not too far from union square. The staff were nice, and helpful with any questions. We had a room facing an alley on the third floor so we got a little exercise everyday walking up the three flights of stairs. The room is small and old with a little closet and table with two chairs, but was good enough for a few nights stay. The microwave and fridge were nice as we had a few quick meals in our room. The windows were very dirty but did open to let steam out when showering as there is no fan in the bathroom. The bed was quite comfortable but seemed to have a little dip in the middle. The room was actually pretty quiet facing another building across the alley. The bathroom had one bigger sized bath towel for the two of us, a couple of facecloths, and a couple of hand towels and bath mats. There were complimentary shampoo/conditioner, hand wipes, and bath soaps. The maid did clean and vacuum everyday if you want them to. The TV. is old but that really didn't matter as we weren't there to watch TV. It had about 5 channels. There is coffee (not good) and tea in the morning nothing else! There is no breakfast just coffee and tea. They hung on to our bags for free and called the airport shuttle for us. $15 each person. Its very basic and if you're not too fussy its fine for a few nights.
The room was small but clean. It is a walk up converted apartment but has charm. Loved the view from our room. The location was perfect. Several great breakfast places and parking. Also a short walk from Union Square and wonderful shops bars and restaurants. Really enjoyed staying here.
Location was good enough that covered everything else that was lacking. Small, tight room with bunkers. Not overly nice but efficient enough staff. No coffee machine in the room but beside the front(?) count in the morning.
This is a HOSTAL NOT a Hotel, very very old building, no parking, i went in saw it and got out of there, not a place to take your wife nor family.
Staff was good, definitely a place that is not in the year 2016. It has all the basics you would need, not the hilon for sure. Dont watch a scary old movie before coming to this hotel you will not be able to sleep. If your using this hotel for the main purpose to sleep and get on the next day its perfect anything more its not for you.
Good: Affordable Heart of town Okay: Bed is squeaky Narrow hallway, staircase Older facility. Overall, I'd stay here again. For the price, I was more than happy.
The hotel was a nice location. Our only complaint was that it smelled bad at times. We couldn't tell if it was the room itself or the street below, but it wasn't unbearable. Staff was very accommodating with holding our luggage for the day/letting us check in early. Room was outdated, but clean. It was a great stay for what we paid, especially compared to other hotels in the area.
