Good: We felt safe. Good: We were put into a suite which was great. Not so good: We went out and purchased Febreze ultra strength and Air Wick because of really bad odor. Good: You could open the windows for fresh air. Not so good: The really old towels and bedding; even though we were registered as 2 occupants, housekeeping shorted towels and washcloths; but were gladly stocked by check-in personnel. Good: The laminate floor made our socks black. Good: Underground parking is available if the hotel lot is full.
*The bathroom was way too small and I felt like I was in the movie Elf. *Everything was way too old. Plugs didn't work. Bathroom door wouldn't latch. Shower had water under the plastic so it felt like I was unstable. *Worker from hotel finished his shift and proceeded to drink with some buddies in the parking lot. *NOT a Gaslamp hotel ( unless you like walking really long distances in a dangerous neighborhood).
The room was okay. The pillows were super thin and there was someone's hair in the bed. We didn't have towels when we got there so had to ask for them. When we got them there was hair on them so that was gross. The wall were paper thin and we heard the people next to us talking all morning and couldn't sleep. But the staff was nice.
The room was large but spartan, firm but comfortable bed. No carpeting in rooms (laminated wood flooring in main room). Lighting in the room was inadequate. All rooms have direct outside access to the main parking area (no interior halls). Parking can fill up meaning having to park in a secured garage around the corner. Basic breakfast in a separate room with hard boiled eggs, bagels and waffles to be toasted, limited pastries, limited yogurt, a couple of cereal choices, automatic pancake machine, and juices. Good value for the price and location but nothing special.
I was in town for convention. Great walk to Convention Center each day and back. Great restaurants and entertainment within minutes or Uber around. Great price compared to the $300-$500 places.
The staff was very friendly, & the view was great!
Fantastic location for working downtown. The $16 parking fee allowed us to leave the car in the secured garage for the full day while we worked. The only downside was the lack of blankets or working heating in the room. Oh, and what sounded like an attempted murder in the next door room at 3am. This was eventually dealt with by hotel staff or the police with no shots fired.
The beds were ridiculously hard! You could feel the springs in the bed--no one slept well at all! Our room had water damage which was never repaired and was just really run down. We had 4 adults (which was clear on my reservation and when we checked in) and we had ONE body towel in our room! We asked for more the night we checked in and had to ask again in the morning--we still didn't have towels by 9 am. The phone in our room didn't work so we couldn't even call for towels--we had to walk down from the 3rd floor. Even after housekeeping "cleaned" our room, they still only left us one body towel!! What hotel does that?! The continental breakfast was terrible--literally just carbs, apples, and yogurt. Don't stay here! Pay the extra money to stay somewhere else!!
Room wasn't ready at check in, switched rooms 3 times, they had to replace the air conditioner while we were in the room trying to shower and relax from traveling, sheets had holes in them, tub didn't drain, shower head came to my forehead on a 5'7" person, definitely not worth $190 dollars for one night
Nice corner room. Love the fact that the hotel is dog friendly with no extra pet fee.
Staff very nice. Hotel is old, worn out and not very comfortable as far as location and comfort. Light in our room did not work and doors (front and bathroom) did not open well. Breakfast was not good! No protein and out of oatmeal packets and orange juice. No cream for coffee. An all white carbohydrate breakfast.
It was convenient to stay but, was not as clean as I wished it would be.
We Stayed overnight and it was a good place reasonably price hotel to sleep in and within walking distance to the harbor and gaslamp district. The room includes a breakfast but it was really nothing to write about.
It was a good location but, bed was uncomfotable. Bathroom was a little outdated & furniture was a bit old.
It was a great deal. The room was big and clean. Better than my expectation for a 2-star hotel. The breakfast was not very special. Overall I had a good experience.
This was a disappointment. The room was saturated with the smell of cigarette smoke. The walls were dirty. The sheets were stained. The benefit of staying here was the shuttle. But, I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else that has a shuttle too.
We were going to stay one night, just for a quick weekend away, but decided to book a second night. The value was great and it was within walking distance to a ton of great stuff to see. The employees were really great and helpful, which is always a plus! The only downside was the lack of pool, but there's so much to go out and do that it wasn't really that bad. Parking is also not free but it's expected since it's in downtown.
Parking was bad. Room walls and adjoining doors were paper thin.
The staff was cordial. There was a 16.00 parking fee. Once the 10 spaces in front are taken you have to park in a parking structure around the corner. The door did have a dead bolt but the chain on the door did not work. I was a little unsure once I saw the outside but the inside was better than I anticipated.
Overall rating: average. The location was good. Service was ok and parking wasn't too much of a hassle which worked out well.
