My traveling partner and I booked a room at a hotel in Redding where we usually stay when we are in town for business but were given a room there that was unacceptable: plumbing noisy, bed hard, A/C very noisy, way too small...We tried to change rooms but were denied due to the hotel being full, so we checked out so as not to spend our second night in Redding without sleep. We moved across the road to Red Lion and were given a room for only $20 more that was much larger, very quiet, clean, and had a larger TV and a much higher quality mattress. We slept like babies and appreciated the noon checkout time. We will stay there instead from now on. There is also a nice restaurant onsite and coffee always available. Our only complaint would be that there aren't coffee-makers in the rooms so we'll pack our own when we stay there next time (in this case, we brought coffee up from the lobby but this was an inconvenience). Oh, and the restaurant wasn't open for lunch upon our checkout time on Sunday, and it would've been convenient for us if it had been.

Only complaint was our non smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke.

We were on the second floor, and the room was very spacious. Plenty of space. Luxury vinyl tile (not carpet) was sanitary and quiet, but not as cozy as carpet. Fridge and microwave were handy, and lots of TV channels.

The hotel itself was great. No complaints whatsoever - pay for the breakfast option, easy & good. Parking was a breeze, but they were very careful to warn everyone about the frequent break ins. My car was full of camping stuff, and we had no problem, but I was worried all night based on their warnings.

Ok hotel for price and location. It only has 2 floors, so no elevator. Our room was designated as non-smoking, but it did have a oder to it. This hotel is outdated and pictures online were deceiving.

I was impressed by the hotel staff. The front desk staff picked me up from the airport even though they were short staffed.

Coffee maker wasn't clean, still had used filter and half full carafe of coffee, air conditioning never cooled down the room, it was stuffy and had a funny smell

...the hotel is comfortable and the rooms are spacious. The courtyard is inviting and the pool and hot tub are spacious and clean. Unfortunately, there were some new staff members (we have been to this hotel many times) that were less than helpful. There were long lines with only one person working the desk (on Memorial Day weekend!) And the breakfast is no longer included in the room charge - it is extra. First time in three stays that was the case. The staff was flippant about the change and unfriendly.

We requested (at the 800 central booking number) a ground floor room, handicapped accessible. That means no stairs, big bathroom with walk in shower and grab bars in and around shower and around toilet. When we checked in, they tried to give us a second floor room. We held out and got a first floor room, but it was not handicapped accessible. There were NO grab bars in the room, making it impossible for me to shower and difficult to use the toilet. The TV on screen guide was impossible, and seating in the room was so poorly placed that we could only see the TV from the beds. If they had not had a special pricing on this date, we would have rejected this room and gone elsewhere. The Redding,CA Red Lion used to be a classy place to stay. It no longer is. Also, it was storming that evening and the hotel outside of our room was freezing cold.

Consistent quality and value for a one night stay. Nice breakfast, clean room, everything worked.

Disappointed in room first night. Entered room and it smelled like musty mold. It was the shower curtain. Called and it was changed immediately. Room was not dusted around desk area, patio was dirty with food and wrappers, black business desk chair had food in ceases and we did not have shampoo and soap samples in room. Next day everything was cleaned. I was so tired I should have requested a different room. This was first time there was a problem. They only said sorry.

My stay was comfortable. The hotel is showing its age and will need to upgrade if it wants to compete with the other nearby hotels.

This hotel is a bargain. We spent a week here and we're so pleased with the staff, room/hotel amenities, and location in Redding. We will always go here when staying in Redding.

my new favorite redding hotel

great stay, seemingly "ok" location

The hotel itself was great. No complaints whatsoever - pay for the breakfast option, easy & good. Parking was a breeze, but they were very careful to warn everyone about the frequent break ins. My car was full of camping stuff, and we had no problem, but I was worried all night based on their warnings.

conviently located to shopping and restaurants

Ok hotel for price and location. It only has 2 floors, so no elevator. Our room was designated as non-smoking, but it did have a oder to it. This hotel is outdated and pictures online were deceiving.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Great news, we have 93 downstairs rooms for those desiring the first floor. Often many people prefer downstairs, while others want an upstairs room. We're like most two floored hotels and do not have an elevator. We sincerely apologize about the odor and hope the Front Desk was able to find you a more suitable room. I am happy to announce we are undergoing renovations and refreshing our guest rooms. The pictures on Orbitz are outdated, but we will have no ones loaded once the renovations are complete. We hope to see you again soon. Take care, GM
