We were very happy with our stay in Charlottetown at the Delta for a conference. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we slept very well. I appreciated the swiftness of the maid service. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to all of downtown Charlottetown. There was more than ample parking available for hotel guests as well! Probably one of the best guest to parking ratios I have ever seen. My one small criticism is that the elevators were dreadfully slow, but they did seem to be right in the middle of an upgrade when we were staying there. Growing pains I suppose! All in all, a great time!
Great Marriott property in fantastic location. The staff went above and beyond expectations. The room was furnished beautifully and very functional. The dining room was a little austere but the food was good and there are lots of restaurants in the area to choose from.
As a Platinum MR member, it seems that the transition to Marriott is a work in progress. Clean hotel, well-appointed rooms. Some nice views of the Charlottetown Harbor. In walking distance to pubs and restaurants and music and shows. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Shout out to a number of staff members that were great ambassadors: Ryan, Julie, Sam and Luke at the Front Desk. Location is great. Nice, laid back stay in enchanting PEI.
Originally, we booked The Holman Grand Hotel through Expedia. We received an urgent email the day before our trip departure that the hotel is over booked. They transferred us to Delta. We didn't know what to expect. When we arrived at Delta, we received a warm welcome from Christel from front desk. She is a most friendly and helpful receptionist ever, so lovely and great first impression of the hotel. We were very pleased with our stay and hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.
We spent our last night at the Delta on PEI. We had a water view room on 9th floor and the view was amazing. Room was updated, clean and comfortable. However, there was a constant noise through the night which kept us awake, so we didn't sleep well. At first we though it was the elevators and it would slow down but the front desk thought it might have been the boiler or something. Anyways, it was anything but peaceful and front desk wasn't able to offer us anything except "sorry about that".
We were there for 3 days but for the highland dancing championships. The staff seemed to be friendly and on the ball , the conference room was very spacious , Amazing view out on to the sea . Also, great accessibility for wheel chairs and strollers
Stayed here with the family and was impressed. Newly renovated rooms and lobby show and feel great. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is great and you can walk to the water or to Downtown core to enjoy live music and good food. Views from the rooms are excellent. Of special note, Rob & Shelly at the restaurant (Waters Edge) were especially helpful, offering up some travel tips that really made our time in PEI fun. Also, during breakfast, my son burnt his finger on a waffle iron. The staff sprung into action like a special forces team coming to his aid, offering ice and burn gel. While there make sure you walk to Richmond St. They have live bands in a "Bus stop bandshell". Then at 10pm, you can watch the 'Signatures' light show projected on the side of the Confederation Centre of the Arts. Highly recommend this hotel as your home base for vacation or business travel whilst in PEI.
We stayed at four Marriott properties during our vacation to Atlantic Canada. The Prince Edwards stands out as the best we visited. I suspect the General Manager is a good leader with a vision that speaks to how best to service a guess who might be an executive, or a family on vacation. The staff at this hotel immediately acknowledged we were awards members. They explained the hotel amenities and our local surroundings. They included us in a welcome reception where the hotel managers attended. The operations managers(?) sent us a card and some raspberry cordial. A very thoughtful gesture that we appreciated it greatly. The hotel is in the best location of the downtown area. Parking was good and we walked to restaurants, the theatre, and coffee shops. The pool had some mech issues but they accommodated us immediately at a nearby hotel. We used their laundry service. This is a great idea that all Marriott hotel don't have. I highly recommend staying at the Prince Edward. Unfortunately, Marriott Inc. does not help enable all its properties to achieve these high standards of service. Thank you for a great experience in PEI.
We chose the Delta so that we could be near the waterfront downtown. This location was good for exploring the city and there is a lively restaurant and bar mix close by. It was also convenient for seeing a show at the Confederation Arts Center. Our room was very large, with a window seat and two arm chairs. The AC worked well, and our king bed was very comfortable. Also, the bathroom was modern and had good lighting in the mirror, so you could see yourself and not be in shadows. Service at the hotel was very good. As a Marriott Rewards member we were welcomed to a Wednesday afternoon reception of beer, wine, and snacks hosted by the hotel management. The room overlooking the harbor was a perfect venue. We also liked the convenience of parking (charge) right under the hotel and using the garage entrance and elevator to bring up luggage. This would be our first choice if we return.
When you arrive at a hotel and... - The staff are friendly - Your room is on a high floor, away from the elevator and incredibly spacious - There's a cute little window bench - Complimentary waters for their guests - Extra towels quickly and without question - Platform bed so you don't lose anything underneath and it just seems cleaner - Headboard reading lights - Hooks for towels or jackets - Full length mirror - Computer cables and an abundance of outlets - Bright lighting - Desk space, Drawers and Cubbies to store stuff - Fridge and Coffee in room You immediately think "This is the template of everything a hotel should be".... Now if they could just get their wifi to work.... Great stay at the end of our two week Maritime vacation!
