They gave us a room upgrade. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great location.
The hotel is quite nice with a great location. Pluses are updated rooms tastefully decorated and a location within walking distance of many good restaurants. The in-hotel restaurant serves a very good breakfast. Negatives are a small lobby with a dated set of shops/services. The elevators are slow but set for a Fall update. The rooms do not have safes which other hotels of this class always have. I enjoyed my stay.
The Delta is located on the waterfront near a couple of wharves with personal pleasure boats. A larger cruise ship also passed through while we were there. The hotel is located within walking distance to a large number of shops and restaurants. Behind the hotel there is a central grassy area with some picnic tables that are surrounded by a few restaurants and shops and live music. There is also a patio area for the hotel's restaurant. We found ourselves retiring to this area every evening to have ice cream, people watch and enjoy the live music. The hotel itself was nice. I understand it was recently rennovated. However, it definitely retains a kind of dated appearance with a somewhat dingy parking area and tiny garage elevator under the hotel. The door staff was incredibly friendly and the front desk very accomodating. The breakfast restaurant staff was the best. My daughter has some allergies and they were very sympathetic and helpful. They even provided "to go" cups for the remainder of the coffee in my carafe. By the third day of dining, the staff at the restaurant seemed happy to see us. They were very pleasant. The hotel was quiet and the room clean. There was a good deal of activity with what appeared to be tour groups arriving, but it was never crowded or noisey. Room service was excellent and the room was clean. There is wifi and the room is equipped with a workstation where multiple types of electronics can be connected.
I was in town for a conference, held at the hotel. It is a lovely hotel with spacious and very clean rooms. The staff members were outstanding- all of the ones I met were enormously helpful. One even provided me with band aids when I cut my foot. The location is excellent - on the water and within short walking distance to a variety of restaurants. I was very pleased.
