The staff here was as friendly as any I have ever experienced. We were here for 5 days and the suite was well equipped—even an outdoor gas grill and fire pit! It was a very pleasant stay! The rooms were clean and service was excellent!
The hotel is in reasonable state of upkeep, room was spacious, breakfast selection is decent. Overall it was a nice stay. I realize that in extended stay hotels, you don't get a full cleaning every day but we never knew what we would come back to. Sometimes we had clean towels, sometimes not. Sometimes one bed was made but not the other. Sometimes dishes were washed, but it wasn't at all clear how they had decided which ones to clean and which ones to leave in the sink. Still, good quality for the price.
Although this is one of older designs of TownePlace Suites and it is obvious that it needs to be renovated, the quality of the staff made up the difference. My son arrived before us and checked in and couldn't stop raving about how friendly and helpful the staff was. We have had problems in the past with limited breakfast and housekeeping over the holiday weekends and were pleased to see that everything was working as usual. In fact, my son said that when he asked about the services available on Thanksgiving day, the employees seemed surprised that he was asking. Of course there will be breakfast and housekeeping. On our first night, the A/C made horrible noises intermittently that woke me up a couple of times. The next morning after breakfast, I asked if they had someone in on the holiday that could take a look at it. The response was, "Of course we will take care of that. When is a good time for them to come?" A short time later, I get a phone call asking if we would prefer to change rooms to the one right next door in case the repair would take longer than expected. We said yes. They said they would call back after having housekeeping refresh the room and make sure everything there was in working order. A short while later, they arrive with keys to the new room, tell us to take our time changing rooms. and as an apology, our first night was being taken care of. I mentioned that I really wasn't upset and the free night was not necessary, but they said keeping the customer happy was the most important thing to them. It definitely shows. The breakfast area was maintained well, with the employees busily moving around getting things done, without getting in the way. The location is great. Right off of the 10 and a block from a shopping mall with easy access to downtown Tempe as well. I especially liked that once I set up the Internet, it worked for the length of my stay. It is so annoying to get kicked off and have to resign in when in the middle of working on something because 24 hours had passed. Platinum late checkout was easy. In fact, they were proactive and remade my keys so that I wouldn't get locked out at noon. Cons With the old style, the bathroom is extremely cramped, especially with 4 people and their bath accessories. The fire pit area is a great addition, but it can make it loud to try and sleep on that side of the building. Consistently getting 3 bath towels and having to ask for a fourth was a bit annoying, but by the last day, they had figured it out and we even had a fifth.
My mom and I stayed one night because our older son was on his way to a Birthday Party and we couldn't find a hotel such as the Red Roof Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Best Western, nothing like that so we found one that is close by and we have had stayed there before called the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Tempe at Arizona Mills Mall. My mom and I had a really good stay and the staff looked very groovy and they treated us like family. The moment we had arrived checking in like around 8:30 pm ish we were surprised that they remodeled pretty much everything. The Front-Desk named Kayla was really good to us and she gave us a room on the 2nd floor which is not bad at all. My mom and I really loved our room because we got a studio with one bed and a kitchenette. The staff at the Towneplace Suites they were really groovy. When my mom and I turned on the TV in our room we were not happy about having a lot of channels in our room. Wish they had like the Pac-12 Network and many more channels so that the guests can enjoy. One thing that I didn't like since they didn't have the Pac-12 Network is because I didn't watch the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks @ Arizona Wildcats Men's basketball game because I had to go and watch it at a restaurant. My mom and I had a really good night's rest last night while we were there and the beds were nice.. The next day my mom and I we went to go down to have some breakfast and the breakfast was amazing they did a really good job putting out nice various items such like Sausage, Egg Meat, Orange Juice, Yogurt, Apple Juice, I fell so in love with the muffins they had because they were top-notched and many more. Today before we checked out my mom and I we were watching movies on HBO and they had really good movies and it is easier to watch them on your TV instead of having to pay a lot of money to buy movies from the comfort of your hotel room. Other than that, My mom and I had a really good stay at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott but next time please definitely add more channels on the TV so that the guests can watch more shows... All of you guys are groovy and we can't thanked each and everyone of you guys for helping my family out. I am also hoping to apply to work with you guys hopefully next summer so I am really looking forward to it. Thank you! Sincerely, Alvina and Patrick Hoyack
o Whom It May Concern, While I was in town and staying at Town Place Suites Tempe AZ, I was checked in by a wonderful woman named Bethany Blanchard. I can always tell when someone is at their job because of the paycheck and who's there for the reward in helping others feel welcome and at home while away from the normal routine. She went above and beyond for me, But also for numerous other guests. She is a beacon in the hospitality industry and I do believe is very lucky to have her. I wish there was a Bethany at every hotel I stay at. She sets the standard for how Marriott employees should act and engage while at work! Because of her actions, while I was in the Lobby, I will most certainly come back to Town Place Suites Tempe AZ anytime I'm in the area! Sincerely, Aireus Westphal
We were attending a wedding and had our adult son with us. We tried to book a suite with a queen bed but had no luck. When we checked in CeCe helped us out buy booking us a two room suite. She was very helpful and friendly. Our room was very clean and well appointed. The grounds were Pleasant and neat. The pool looked nice even though we didn't use it. Bonus for the airport shuttle too. Would definitely stay here again.
We booked a pre-paid reservation yesterday and wanted to cancel after learning the rooms were only one bed. I did not want to share a queen sized bed with my colleague. Working in a hotel in the past, third-party reservations may be cancelled if authorized by a manager. For some reason, the housekeeping supervisor was the one "handling" our request. The GM refused to upcharge us for two beds and refused to issue a refund even AFTER telling us she was overbooked by four rooms. You would think we are helping her out by cancelling and freeing a room. We reserved for 4 nights. This was NOT going to be a comfortable business trip. Thankfully, HOTWIRE did everything they could for us after staying on the phone for 2 hours. They moved our reservation to another hotel who could fulfill our two bed needs AND a $70 discount since we book rooms weekly. Customer Care was also no help. I will not consider another property from this brand. IHG Customer Care actually CARES and fixes the issue 100%.
Spent 3 nights here for work recently while in Phoenix. Our normal hotel we would stay at was booked so we went with this one. There wasn't anything wrong with it, as it did have some of the Marriott quality, but the bathroom was in need of refurbishing. Just really showing its age. Free breakfast was ok, gym was small but fine, and the people were nice. 24 hour free shuttle from the airport definitely came in when we needed to leave at 4:30am.
Adjacent to to the mega mall Arizona Mills, the TownPlace Suites provides many of the comforts of a an apartment with some clever and simple southwestern design elements. The courtyard pool is intimate and sports nice chaise lounges draped with towels. The courtyard also has a large gathering space with tables and chairs for evening get-togethers. Rooms are standard fare for the TownPlace brand with comfy beds but dated furniture. The kitchen is basic, but boast all the appliances you need for an extended stay to include frig, range and microwave. The little touches by the housekeeping staff were noticeable in the array of thoughtful towel designs and configurations you might find at higher-end hotels. Staff were quick at check-in and the complimentary breakfast included a wide variety of choices. The property is further south of downtown Tempe.
Stayed here from Monday to Friday. The room was quiet, the breakfast buffet was ...a breakfast buffet. The room darkened out well and the bed and linens were clean and comfortable. was able to save some money because the room had a kitchenette and dishes
