Established in 1916, the Mary Agnes Poe House and Garden offers unique lodging in Paso Robles, CA., with a perfect setting for your next romantic getaway, family vacation, or wine country weekend on the beautiful Central Coast of California. This charming craftsman bungalow is in a quiet residential area in the heart of the historic downtown, a short walk from the city park, boutiques, wine tasting, many fine restaurants, children’s museum, and cinema. The Paso Robles Event Center, home of the Mid-State Fair, equestrian competitions, exhibitions, and other activities are also within walking distance. Hop in your car and you are just a few miles from scores of exceptional wineries, golf courses and new water park. Morro Bay, the artist community of Cambria and Hearst Castle are a pleasant drive away. The Mary Agnes Poe House features a sunny and inviting interior, complete with period furnishings, interesting original architectural features, unique wall coverings, and a fully equipped kitchen. The three cozy bedrooms have comfortable queen size beds, and an inviting sunroom has a fold-out couch that sleeps two. There are two modern full bathrooms, one featuring a spa shower. The formal dining room seats eight people comfortably and opens onto a covered deck where you can enjoy a glass of wine or morning cup of tea. With plenty of outside seating, you can rest on the sun-drenched front porch, unwind in the peaceful flower gardens with your favorite book, or entertain yourself and your guests with a barbecue on the lawn or intimate conversation under the sheltered gazebo. Perfect house for friend’s weekend
We had 3 couples staying at the Poe House for a friend’s weekend and it was a perfect fit for what we needed! We could walk downtown, there were pretty outdoor areas to hang out and it was a short drive to the wineries. Would definitely stay here again!

Great town
The place was very charming, clean, and well-appointed. It also has a nice yard that's fully enclosed. my dogs loved it. The house is centrally-located in a quiet neighborhood close to wineries, restaurants, and an easy trip to the coast and Hearst Castle. We were there during record heat and the AC worked well, and the yard and deck were still fairly pleasant.

Adorable house in a great location. Great communication from host. All the amenities you’d want (hooray for fluffy towels and other nice touches). Wish we’d booked a longer stay so we could use the cozy fire pit. Walking distance to nice restaurants but remote enough that we had deer in the front yard.

House layout and bathroom sizes are strange/small. Also, fire pit kept going out and the propane tank was full. Something to do with the gas line. Also, sprinklers come on too early and we got wet. A sprinkler head in the back is broken and shot water straight up for a long time. Suggest fixing that as it is a huge waste of water.

Comfy, cozy house that is well appointed – would definitely rent again!
We saw this house on Vrbo, and saw how many positive reviews it had, and just went on the rating and we were not disappointed. The only negatives we have to offer our the fact that, since it is an old house with single pane windows, it was chilly. But they had this really lovely gas-fired fireplace that we kept on pretty much the whole weekend that warmed the place right up! I do wonder if we stayed there in the summer how different it would be trying to keep the place cool... we are going to note that because we are card players. We love the fact that the dining room table has this “card table top” that made playing games fantastic! We will definitely rent this place the next time we come down to Paso Robles!

Quaint home in great location
This home is super cute and was the perfect size for our three-person girlfriend stay. We love how the owners have retained the charm of this historic home while making it functional and fabulous. Its location provided easy and quick access to downtown Paso and was in a quiet and adorable neighborhood. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and the fireplace added a charming, comfortable setting for wine and conversation.

Clean and comfortable historic home with all the amenities for a short stay. Quiet neighborhood. Loved the backyard for outdoor BBQ and dining. We didn't watch TV; however, the Living room had only enough seating for three people. We did most of our conversing in the Dining room and backyard dining table. The instructions for the thermostat when leaving the premises was conflicting. One set of instructions said to increase to 85 degrees, another said to turn off the thermostat.

The house was perfect! So charming! Was perfect for our extended weekend stay. The backyard was maintained, however, it wasn’t fully enclosed, which made having dogs a little difficult (since deer walk around). Otherwise, would 100% stay again!

Historic cottage. Exactly as advertised commercially managed properly. Guests are asked to run a load of towels and dishes before you leave. Great patio and back yard area. Street parking. Very responsive communication.

We enjoyed our stay. Some electrical problems in beginning that were immediately taken care of by property managers. Fully stocked with appliances and dishes which were great because we ate many meals at the house. Beds comfy and white towels seemed new and extremely soft. Used the outside fire pit which worked well. Thank you for a very nice stay.

Great location, comfortable and cozy
This was the second time my friends and I stayed at Poe House while enjoying a weekend of wine, food and conversation in Paso Robles. The historic house is small but comfortable, in a great location to walk to the town square with its fine restaurants and shops. Good launching point for wineries and trips to the much cooler coastal towns. Despite the home's age, it had effective air conditioning for the summer Paso heat. There were a few minor maintenance items that needed attention, but we let the management know.

The Poe House is a beautiful cottage on a quiet street near downtown Paso Robles. From the white picket fence to the lovely garden, the moment you park your car, the entire experience feels like you’re home. But the property experience is more than the look and feel of the home, the property management company is top notch. They check in with you and ensure you have an amazing time in their town, providing you with recommendations and suggestions for things to do and visit. I really appreciated their attention to detail. Definitely recommend visiting Poe house…you’ll never be disappointed!

A Beautiful Home, Quiet Location Close to Old Town Paso Robles.
It is a lovely home well equipped with supplies. Within walking distance to restaurants, the park, and the Historical section of town. Our cat loved the home too! However, Upon entering there was a musty odor throughout the house. Could air fresheners be used? The Beds were really confortable! Overall a 4 STAR RATING! Thank You Paso Robles Rental!

Lovely historic home in a quiet neighborhood
We really enjoyed our stay at the Poe house this weekend. Very clean and spacious for 2-3 couples. The kitchen is well equipped, beds comfortable, updated bathrooms and beautiful grounds with spring flowers in bloom! We enjoyed the several sitting areas outside, and took a nice neighborhood stroll after breakfast. After a bit of wine tasting nearby, we walked to the town square for Art in the Park, and enjoyed some relaxation time at the Backyard on 13th as well. We look forward to coming back again!
