Enjoyed my short stay at Tan tera.Plan on going back with couple more friends. Water park was perfect for my 6 yr old daughter and she also enjoyed the outdoor mini golf. We took the boat out from the facility's marina,, and had our takeaway lunch on the boat, kids enjoyed that alot.
Terrible check in experience. Waited 3 1/2 hours for a room.Management was non-existent. I loved lake of the Ozarks and will be back, but not at Tan-Tar-A.
We had trouble getting the key card to work on our door. The door had a one inch gap all around it letting in light and a few flies. The air conditioner was loud and leaked water on the carpet. The room above us had a leaky air conditioner that leaked all over our balcony that we couldn't use. The tv reception was bad on some channels and couldn't get a signal at all on NBC. We are both pretty fit for being around 70 years old, but the stairs were getting to be too much everywhere we went. The view was good. The golf course was nice. The pool area was also pretty nice.
Parking is awful, everywhere you want to go to eat or the pool is a hill that you have to walk up.
Some of tje rooms are a little dated, some are brand new, but always perfectly clean. We love the lake vibe and resort atmosphere.
The hotel is obviously older and could use some updating. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, however, we had flies in our room that continued to multiply over the weekend! The bathroom was OK. It REALLY needs some updating. The shower was awful! It wasn't the pressure, it was the setting on the shower head, which could NOT be changed. More counter space would be nice too, but loved the view and the bed!
Great location lots of choices to dine drink and have fun
We didn't stay at the resort. We stayed in the Estates which are small houses on the back side of Tan-tar-a and we loved it! Rented a boat from their marina. Had a blast.
We were not guranteed a room on the resort because they couldn't accommodate us for 6 nights. So don't book more than 3 nights
Love this resort nice and clean place to stay. Different activities to do without even leaving. Fun for families or if you just want a fun get away with friends.
Rooms need to be updated. Clean but not very inviting. Patio to lake was full of bugs, could not even open door. Just needs some maitenance. Nice setting on the lake.
We found Tan-Tar-A when there were not enough open suites available in Camdenton. It was a great find for us! Our rooms were immaculate and comfortable. So impressed with the bedding, my husband is ready to buy a mattress set just like we had at Tan-Tar-A. Black Bear Lodge Restaurant's staff were attentive and the food excellent. Whether dining inside or on the massive desk, we enjoyed every meal. Ask for Donovan! Several of our party booked massages at the Windjammer Spa & Salon. Again, excellent experiences all around. It was refreshing to meet another Whovian at the front desk also!
Tan tara is a dated resort however the location is great. On the pricey side for other sites available at the lake
Resort has a great history, but is run down. Room smells musty.
The Resort was Great!! I had one of the v Best times of my Life. The room was Great and the view was Spectacular. The resort has so much to offer. Make sure you hit the 8th floor. They have stores and more. I definitely plan on going back!!!!!
Got a few days to spend at the lake and went with Tan Tar A- been there before- hotel rooms are very clean- air conditioning works great, so great things don't dry- rented a pontoon boat and had a great 4 hours on the lake- staff was very helpful and polite! The restaurant on-site was delicious!
I took my daughter & her friend for a girl's weekend. We went horseback riding & hung out at the pool. The girls enjoyed paddle boating & bowling. The buffet breakfast food & service at the Black Bear Lodge was excellent!! I love how the resort had everything your family needs for all age groups. We enjoyed our stay immensely & would go back! we stayed in the Estates area. My only complaint was on our last morning the people above us were so loud packing, they woke us all up at 7 am. :(
Great place to enjoy the lake, pools, and family. I would book it again. Felt so relaxing!
resort is very hilly and the building we stayed in ( B), was older , had no elevator, but endless hallways and staircases it seemed.. room was on second floor in building B and I had informed the girl at front desk that we had a baby and luggage , but was not offered any help with that.. in fact she said it was only a few stairs.By the time we had everything upstairs I was close to a heart attack.. . view was great, breakfast in black bear restaurant ( we picked Buffett) was not good. eggs cold, potatoes cold and mushy.. the pools ( inside and outside) were very cold.. I had expected a warmer pool on the inside at least. we had a rainy day and had no choice but to look for inside activities. it is a big resort with different buildings that somehow connect if you are willing to walk endlessly up and down stairs and hallways.. It was so bad for us we left a day early. I had paid for 2 nights but was willing to get on the road a day early just to get out of there.. maybe if we had nicer weather and could have spent time outside our experience would have been better.. but overall I was not impressed and would not go there again..
beyond the expectations nice place to spend with friends or family . the scenic view is truly exceptional
