Worst VRBO experience we’ve had…only after sending multiple messages to the owner, who promised to send us checkin info, and us finally calling VRBO for help, did we receive check in/arrival info. By then we had less than 12 hours left before boarding our flights.
Second, I was promised that the property would be “sparkling clean” by the owner. I wish I could attach pictures, but when we arrived we were stunned. Sheets were hanging over doors, beds were unmade, floors were dirty with food debris+hairs, dirty dishes, dryer had sheets hanging half in/out of the door, wash machine was full of wet. Wet blankets were hung over furniture. We imm. reached out to the owner who seemed confused. We wanted to leave, but it was almost 10pm and after some back and forth, realizing we had been up for >24 hrs and our young son needed to sleep, we agreed to wait for the property manager, Javier, to arrive. He offered to help and ran around for 30 min. making beds and spot cleaning. He told us 3 times we should request a refund and that hours of cleaning needed to be done. I stayed up until 2am cleaning so we could all use one bathroom and the kitchen. The owner said his cleaning team could come in, but only if we were at home. We had many activities and long days planned with us arriving home each day after 9pm. We ended up doing the cleaning ourselves. VRBO told us they emailed the owner and told him he should compensate us financially, but to date he has not responded to them nor us.
