Most disappointing was a search mismatch; I Googled "hotels near Sanford Airport" and found this one. It was about an HOUR's drive away from the airport, through some pretty horrendous traffic. A big part of the reason I'd flown through Sanford was aversion to Orlando Spring Break Disney traffic, but this place was right next to Mickey, and I've never seen so many law-breaking soccer moms, careening down I-4 at 80+mph. No information was given on the website regarding distance from Sanford. It was an Orbitz booking; if I'd known the tie-in to Expedia, I would never have used the site, because I've had a couple hellish experiences with Expedia and know them to be intransigent and ineffective and the antithesis of helpful. This place would have been ideal for a small family going to Disney. Staff friendly. Fitness center was small, under-equipped, had limited hours, and smelled funny. Clearly not a priority. There was a pretty complete kitchen in the room, but no on-site restaurant. Blackfire Brazilian Steakhouse was within walking distance, and very good.

Clean, amazing amenities, well stocked linen closet and kitchen supplies

Friendly staff. Priced accordingly. As expected, it was fine for us our kids enjoyed it

Our room was comfortable for the (3) adults and (2) children in our group. The room was decent size and very clean. The motel is very close to I-4 and the entrance to Walt Disney Worlds Disney Springs. The only downside of our experience was the free breakfast. It was not even worth the price of $0.00. We stayed (2) days, and we ate breakfast down the street

Good experience. Comfy for the 6 of us. The kitchenette is a nice bonus.

We checked in late at night. Arrived to our room and there were partially used water bottles left on the floor in a couple of places. The shower had several long hairs on the wall that were not from us. The toilet seat and refrigerator were broken. I reported all of the issues at 7am our second day due to the nighttime lateness. The second night we return to our room late again to find that the water bottles are still around the room, hair is still on the shower, and refrigerator still is not working properly. I told the front desk on night two and they apologized and referee me to the manager in the morning. At checkout the next morning I talked to the manager who apologized (she was the one who initially filed the complaints) and simply told me I could wait on the maid to arrive if I wanted to talk to the maid. Why would it be my place to discuss all of this with the maid???? Also...at the point of 3 complaints about the same disgusting hair...shouldn't the hotel be slightly more friendly and apologetic than wanting to refer me to a maid??? It's sad because the place was otherwise nice...good breakfast...good location. We travel to Orlando a lot and would loved to have added this hotel to a regular but not with the lack of cleanliness especially since we travel with children.

The Hawthorn Suites Lake Buena Vista was the perfect home base for our family during a late-May vacation to Disney and a few other central Florida sites. The location was perfect and the suite room was very good, quiet, and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and we really enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was nothing fancy, but was very acceptable and plentiful for a complimentary hotel breakfast. There were hot options and plenty of other side items. The breakfast dining room was also very spacious and comfortable. The only thing I might mention is that the rooms are a little tired and could use a refresh, but it definitely wasn't bad or a huge problem. All-in-all, a very good hotel option for families near Disney and the other area attractions.

Wonderful experience, nice friendly staff well spacious room, separate living and bedroom area. complete kitchen with utensils

I stayed here for nine days. After three nights I inquired at the front desk about changing the sheets. She wrote down the request. She informed they don't automatically go it. The guest must ask. When we returned to the room that night no clean sheets. Asked again the next day and finally got them. The room was never cleaned well...hair still on floor, tub and sink. No vacumming or dusting. When I checked out I asked how a guest was suppose to know about the sheet policy. The lady at the desk just shrugged her shoulders. I noted that it's no where in the room or in the pack of papers I received at check in. I have stayed and many hotels on Palm Parkway outside Disney Springs. I won't stay at this one again.

We had two rooms 4 in each room. The rooms were very comfortable, clean. The sofa beds too. Parks are very close and restaurants also.

Nice, clean hotel at a good price. Close to I-Drive & Universal. Comfortable sitting area in room, comfortable beds. Clean pool area. Worth your consideration.

15 minutes before breakfast was over I noticed the serving container for the eggs was missing and a plant was in its place. I decided to see if there was more bacon as it had run out and it was replaced with sausage...but that didn't last. I looked for the french toast...but that was out as well. After looking around at all the hungry looking people with EMPTY plates that hadn't eaten yet I decided to pass on getting any more food as there clearly wasn't enough to go around. At check-in I asked where the closest door was to my room and was told the main entrance. The problem is that my room was the next to last room from the far exit door. There was exterior access and parking at that door. It would have helped greatly after a long day to have been honest or to at least look up the answer if you don't know.

all the staff we felt with had great customer service attitude

Great hotel. Room was great and super comfortable. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. Location was great. Near all the parks. Not within walking distance so best if you have a car. The hotel does have shuttle service. We rented a car and it was great. Would stay here again.

Breakfast is OK, room needs to be updated. staff not friendly

Filthy bathroom. Terrible food. Would not recommend this hotel.

Not only did we have to go without water for several hours one day, but we had to steal a roll of toilet paper from the cart in the hall as housekeeping didn't give us extra. Housekeeping also changed the towels and forgot to give us wash cloths. One evening we came back to the room and the temperature was 60 degrees. I like to keep it at 75! It was freezing! I had to leave a note on the thermostat asking not to change the temperature. The breakfast buffet was terrible and we ate breakfast out. Guest services woke us up with a call at 8:45am to tell us that we had a guest packet they wanted to give us! I let them know we didn't appreciate the call.

The hotel was great . However, my husband has difficulty walking and our room was way car away from the closest elevator. This could be a problem for many - people who can't walk well or families with kids.

Good choice for Disney outside the immediate park area. Very friendly front desk staff.
